Project Orion came about shortly after world war II as a means to propel large space ships vast distances—as far as Saturn according to the people who worked on this. The concept was simple—explode atomic bombs behind the ship and the resulting force would propel the ship forwards. Here's the long version of it.

I'm feeling very trodden upon and alcoholic right now, so...
(The idea is to give recognition to someone, something, or nothing for whatever reason.)

I'd like to thank Tutu for being an inquisitive, caring, and deep person/friend (if it's okay to call someone on an online message board a friend).

I parked in the lower level of the university's parking lot. As you come into it, the right side is all parking spots. The left side is a sidewalk with "no parking any time time" signs running down it. I parked in a spot. On Tuesday, there were a bunch of cars parked by the sidewalk, which is illegal. I backed out and bumped a red truck. There was no damage, no dents (maybe a scuff, as my bumper was scuffed), so I drove on, partly because I hadn't done it before.

This morning. I receive a text message on my cell phone in the middle of class. This is it:

"arcticclimber@yahoo.com(the car you hit) So Mr. [my last name], whatcha going to do about that Nissan pick up you hit the other night? Have you notified the owner..."

I try to reply, but he used a bogus phone number. I check my email an hour later, this is what I find:

"ok Mr. [my last name]...what are you going to do about that
maroon Nissan pick-up you backed into the other night?
Nice dent on their passenger door, sucks to be them.

Well, a hit and run now, Blue Ford Probe, License
plate [my number], owned by your dad...."

For the record, I did not leave a big dent, the driver's side was facing me, not the passenger's side, and I don't think a parking lot bump (on an illegally parked vehicle, no less) qualifies as hit and run. My car isn't owned by my dad anymore, either. And I told this guy as much, in a pretty nasty and forceful way... Because this has to be a person I know. But I don't know who... This is his reply to my nasty reply:

"ok, just checking.

I was walking with some friends and not in a car, so i
guess someone else saw also.

oh well

cheers"

I probably should have left a note... Still, this really creeped me out this morning and I don't see why he didn't just call me (my number is listed on my profile at the UAS students online thingy).

It's short, I promise.

Saucer lands on a field to do whatever it's doing, it leaves a circulary mark. Much like the mark left on the woman's lawn in Budd Hopkins' book Intruders. After seeing this, people jumped to conclusions and hoaxers started creating elaborate shapes and circles themselves, creating this whole mystique. The end.

Remember the G4 Cube?

Well it's back, albeit in a less cool looking form (in my opinion). The Mac Mini is a fairly nice looking machine. For $500 you get a very functional computer that costs about the same as an inferior Dell computer.

Since Apple's rebirth in 1998, they've once again become the leading innovaters in the computer technology industry, creating such (now) standards as USB, Firewire, Bluetooth, Airport (wireless networking), and the velocity engine. They've also for the past seven years excelled in fitting excellent hardware in small packages. The original iMac was a miniaturized beast that was only a little larger than the monitor that was built in to it. Subsequent iMacs, the eMac, iPod, and a myriad of other devices as well. The Mac Mini is no exception.

The first thing I read about the Mac Mini was on MSN.com, and it called it a "stripped down Macintosh" so I was apprehensive at first. But then I looked at the technical specs and it's actually a very good deal, especially considering that their eMac, which in all rights is an inferior machine, costs about $500 more.

My question: who would consider buying it? Here are the tech specs .
