I think we do not need waiting for Outer Foreigners to tell us how much in a mess we are.

But, if we were able to have a discussion with one of them, what could she really be telling us ?

How would it sound like ?

Well, it might look like this…

--------------------------------------------------------------

“Your civilisation is at its turning point right now”.

“As long as neoliberalism and oil fuel your world's economies, securing your planet's dwindling resources will become increasingly important, inevitably leading to widespread instability and violent confrontations all over the planet. The never-ending and opportunistic "war on terrorism," of the U.S. (the greatest success of which is growing new crops of 'terrorists'), is used to violently pursue geo-political control of the Middle East and monopolise some of your world's largest remaining oil supplies. As the planet's oil diminishes over the coming decades, the U.S. hopes this strategic geopolitical control will give it hegemony over this temporary vital resource, enabling further global domination and the ability to continue unsustainable consumption levels (the U.S. has 6% of your world's population, but consumes 25% of the planet's resources including oil)”.

“For corporate globalisation is merely the refinement of old-style imperialism and colonisation updated in the U.S. by a military budget equivalent to that of the rest of your world combined; by the use of the word "democracy" to conceal the exploitation invited by "free market" policies; and by the corporate monopolisation of mass media”.

“The U.S. is utilising its defacto veto power over your World Bank to subjugate and exploit the developing world. Devastated by a long history of imperialism and colonialism, poor countries are further ravaged”.

“The price for the loans is crushing debt and the imposition of conditions that recipient countries slash social services and open borders to privatisation and exploitative foreign investment. Your World Bank further dispossesses, poisons and impoverishes communities by funding mega-projects (including oil development and large-scale hydroelectric dams) in poor countries on your planet. All of this is designed to empower giant corporations to wrest control of natural resources away from resident populations - mainly already poor indigenous peoples and people of colour - and ship them off to Northern countries. These policies transform human beings on your planet into expendable resources. In this regard, it could be argued that their logical extreme of "free trade" or "globalisation" was already realised in the first wave of globalisation: the three-continent slave trade”.

“The success of corporate globalisation requires "unlimited growth", a never-ending increase in the transformation of "resources" into capital. Control over these dwindling resources requires global military and economic domination”.

“Through ‘free trade’ treaties and globalisation, a single economic system is threatening to encompass the entire planet. At its core, this system is based on a very narrow view of human needs and motivations: it is concerned exclusively with monetary transactions, and largely ignores such non-material aspects of life as family and community, meaningful occupations, or spiritual values. The focus on monetised social relations is echoed in the belief that your people are motivated primarily by self-interest and endless material desires. Significantly, the western economic system does not set about trying to temper this supposedly self-centred, acquisitive nature of your people, but rather to exploit it: it is believed that an ‘invisible hand’ will transform the selfish actions of individuals into benefits for society as a whole”.

“What does the globalise economy really mean to your governments? The president of one of your companies once defined it as ‘a world of homogeneous consumption’, a world in which people everywhere eat the same food, wear the same clothing and live in houses built from the same materials. It is a world in which every society employs the same technologies, depends on the same centrally managed economy, offers the same Western education for its children, speaks the same language, consumes the same media images, holds the same values, and even thinks the same thoughts. In effect, globalisation means the destruction of cultural diversity on your planet. It means monoculture”.

“The vast majority of your scientists agree that global warming is real, as the first phase of the impending ecological crisis. it’s already happening. It is the result of your activities and not a natural occurrence. The evidence is overwhelming and undeniable”.

“We have been monitoring changes on your planet for a long time, waiting for you to notice it:

- Glaciers are melting, plants and animals are being forced from their habitat, and the number of severe storms and droughts is increasing.

- The number of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes has almost doubled in the last 30 years.

- Malaria has spread to higher altitudes in places like the Colombian Andes, 7000 feet above sea level.

- The flow of ice from glaciers in Greenland has more than doubled over the past decade.

- At least 279 species of plants and animals on your planet are already responding to global warming, moving closer to the poles”.

“If the warming continues, we, and your scientists, are expecting catastrophic consequences.

- Deaths from global warming will double in just 25 years to 300,000 people a year.

- Global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet with the loss of shelf ice in Greenland and Antarctica, devastating coastal areas world-wide.

- Heat waves will be more frequent and more intense on your planet.

- Droughts and wildfires will occur more often.

- The Arctic Ocean could be ice free in summer by 2050.

- More than a million species on your planet could be driven to extinction by 2050”.

“There is no doubt in our minds you can solve this problem. In fact, you have a moral obligation to do so. The time to come together to solve this problem is now”.

“We can not intervene directly into your planet’s matter because we respect your freedom”. “We are waiting to see which path you will choose”.

--------------------------------------------------------------

If Outer Foreigners were telling us that, what would be your response ?

Ben,

That is what happens when people do not educate themselves.

Nobody learns anything.

They listen to movies,
they read novels,
they listen to radio and they buy stuff...

Then they get lost in believing weird things.

Sad, really sad.

We should always be sure to have a grip on reality.

Stop searching for "proofs".
That's what drives people nuts.

There will always be denyings.

Learn about biology, about the natural evolution
and you will get an idea of what is really possible in the universe.

Greeting everybody.

I submit this one, following my last text.

In the Earth’s history of humans, (Anthropology) some 7 million years ago there were 2 types of emerging humanoids. [Sorry but I only know the names in French] The Australopithèque Gracile, were vegetarians and the Australopitèque Paranthrope (Robustus) were eating meet.

Between 7 million years and 2.5 million years ago, the vegetarian family of humans were completely eliminated. The next family that did emerge was the Homo Habilis, from the Paranthrope (the Robustus). Their successors finely came trough the evolution. They were selected by the nature to fill the planet. The “type A” humanoids (meet eater).

We all know what did happen. It is obvious. Violence, individuality and withdrawal from the ecosystem are the outstanding facts in Earth’s civilisation. This is what “outer foreigners” see when they look at our planet.

From what we can see, the kind of society we - as “type A” beings - have developed can not reach high level of knowledge because it is always dealing with the very serious problems the system keeps harvesting. This type of society is stranded. Its people, the communities, the nations are kept in ignorance. Evolution is stagnant.

What would have happened on a far distant planet like the Earth if vegetarians had been selected to tower above evolution?

What kind of society would they have been able to build?

Early on they would have learned to respect the ecosystem. Their health depended on it. They would have find great interest in studying biology, and physics, and chemistry, and so on.

They probably would have put in place a kind of system that resembles the functioning of the ecosystem, because it is working very well. The nature had been making use of a good method for a long time. Why wouldn’t they apply it to their community?

Numerous advantages and continuous improvement to their society would have kept them going that way, farther and farther. Their system always bettering their society. Knowledge constantly reaching higher stages. Technology getting regularly through amazing horizons.

Integration to the local ecosystem is vital.
If a civilisation can not comply with the natural system that it rests on,
it can not go outside.

What would happen to the planets we could export “our” system on?
Understandingly enough, that can not be aloud.

Consequently, we have nothing to worry about “outer foreigners” because if they got outside of their solar system, deference toward the surroundings (environment; other living beings) is unquestionably their First Priority.

Hi everybody.

I am happy to have found this forum.
It is very interesting to read you guys.
I did not know that the these subjects still alive like that!

I would like to know your general idea
about other civilizations, outer civilizations...
