John Lennon. Who was responsible for his death, really?

This question is mainly directed at people who 'remember' him - his life I mean - as an activist.


Sure, from what I've read I know that a guy called Mark Chapman admitted to pulling the trigger ..... but was he just another raving loon or was he ..... you know .... brainwashed?

To some this might sound like a stupid question, but I was reading about his life and there are certain 'events/movements' he did/made that really seemed to p*** off the American Government. And when I say that I mean they constantly watched, followed, hounded, and (unsuccessfully) tried to have him deported. The FBI had almost 300 files on the guy .. ....

I guess what I'm really trying to ask is 'Do you think the US Government played any part?'

Lennon was loved by millions. The US Gov however .... well ... no comment on that one. He would have been considered a huge threat when he went all 'anti-war activist'.... I mean ... who would you listen to? Not to some stinkin' politician thats for sure. But then what would I know, I'm only a 'Yungun'. LoL
I've heard alot of people say that if Lennon hadn't have died, there may have never been a war in Iraq. So sad ...


Does anyone have any thoughts on this or any other thoughts/theories on why he was killed? I found one saying Stephen King did it (???!!!!!:laugh:) but I'll keep that one to myself for now.

I'm a 24yr old lass from UK. Found this forum by accident a few days ago but I'm already hooked!! It's just interest that brought me here really, not had any experiences myself but I know people that say they have so I guess you could say thats what sparked it.

I believe in aliens and the theory that they may have played some part in our ancient history. IMO there are just too many 'too manys' for people to just call it nonsense. An open mind is always a good thing
