Saw this today:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081007/ap_on_...land_meltdown_1 I notice that Iceland is seizing control of the banks. Considering that the US gov't, in the 700 billion dollar bailout, is taking over some aspects of financial institutions in America, I somewhat wonder if this is the beginning of an effort to nationalize world banks, and if so: is this good or bad. Thoughts?

According to this news source:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080903/ap_on_..._palin_iraq_war QUOTE Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God." So ... God WANTS us to fight? Among her quotes: QUOTE the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will." Uh-huh. Yeah. Sure. And the fact that money is involved doesn't influence this at all ... QUOTE "Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan." Our leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God? Oh, well ... I guess I can't argue with God, now can I? But ... I was kind of under the impression that our nation specifically does not take orders from God, but rather the people. QUOTE As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets. And the fact that as a citizen of Alaska she gets revenue from Alaskan oil has nothing to do with this ... it's all in the service of God ... uh-huh. QUOTE "God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said. So ... uh ... God's master plan is to ... sell oil. Hmmmm. Never would have thought of that one. I had more the impression it was about ... oh, I don't know ... conquering evil or getting us to eat better or ... HECK, be nice to each other. ******* I tell you ... I was on McCain's side until he chose Palin

I found this on youtube: Mintys Comedian of the Month. The host comes out with a beer. These guys are hilarious.
However: word of warning ... Do not watch these comedians if you are easily offended. They are graphic, they are explicit, they are foul, they are unbelievably hysterical. I highly recommend them to those who want a good laugh. And to Viacom, who is trying to keep this guy from posting these videos: Dear Viacom, I would not have even heard about the tremendous talent of these men without these posts. Chill. Enjoy http://uk.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=mintgeeza

Just saw this: an airline in NZ is offering $1000 ($666 US) to people to get a temporary tattoo of information on their foreheads.
Is it a sign of the end? 666 and a mark on the forehead? What are the other signs that the horsemen may be abroad and that the end is upon us ... tongue in cheek naturally.

I just found out tonight that atomfilms sold out. The new owners, MTV and Comedy Central, have taken what used to be a brilliant site for enterprising young film-makers, and turned it into just another stooooooopid comedy video site.
I mean, my heart is broken! This site used to have sci-fi, horror, drama ... all kinds of short, independent films from young, undiscovered film-makers. It was great! And now it's dead. I can't believe it. I mean, do we REALLY need another joke-video site? Atomfilms used to be SERIOUS, for REAL filmmakers. Not video: films. It was ART. Now it's just another pile of waste on the internet. |
