Hi there,

Just wondering what your thoughts are on the topic of "orbs" that have become very popular in the field over the past few years? (Hugely popularised here in the UK due to the Most Haunted TV programme that started about 7 years ago or so). :headscrat

(I'm just starting to get a feel of what people think of different things on this forum with me being a newbie!) smile.gif

Hi there,

This site is mainly run by my other half but I tend to contribute to it regularly and am a Moderator/Admin for the website/forums.

The website is for the Otherworld North East investigation group based in the North East of England. We are largely a scientific investigation group. Myself, I'm a sceptic - open minded enough to consider the possibilities but not one for jumping to "paranormal" conclusions prematurely.

I'm an Investigator and Team Leader for the group.

The main website can be found here:

http://www.otherworldnortheast.org.uk

We have two forums, one mainly dealing with ghosts, parapsychology, etc:
http://www.otherworldnortheast.org.uk/ghostsandhistory/
and the other dealing with UFOs, aliens, cryptozoology, etc:

Feel free to come and join in the discussions! biggrin.gif

Hi there,

I've just introduced myself in the relevant section of this forum - I'm new here biggrin.gif

Just thought I'd ask your thoughts on the topic of pareidolia.

In my opinion, this effect can go a LONG way to explaining practically all photographs/video clips/etc. that you see that people claim to be "paranormal" in nature. I'm a true sceptic in that I'm open minded but it takes a lot to convince me that something is truly "paranormal" when there are usually loads of other possible explanations for something. Pareidolia being just one of them!

What are your thoughts on it?

For those who have never come across the term "pareidolia" before, here is a link to an article I wrote about the subject:

Hi there,

I'm brand new to this forum so just thought I'd pop in here to say hi. smile.gif

I've had a lifelong fascination in all things "paranormal". I have been actively investigating ghosts, hauntings, poltergeists, etc. since around about the year 2000. Have only seen/heard/felt a handful of things that I still class as "interesting". I'm a true sceptic - I'm open minded enough to understand the possibilities but I need hard evidence before I'll believe things to be "paranormal".

Have dabbled in UFO/alien research although it is largely too expensive to get involved in, in the manner in which I would like to do.

I run my own (newish) forum about aliens, UFOs, cryptozoology, etc. (Link found in my signature).

I used to be run my own Paranormal Research group before the group disbanded when I re-located from Wales up to the North East of England which is where I'm based now. I've recently had a baby so am on Maternity Leave just now (hence have time occasionally to come online!) but by trade I'm a Laboratory Technician.

Where abouts are you guys/gals from?

Anyway, thats enough about me, I'm going to have a look around these forums now! biggrin.gif
