I saw a long documentary on rods a few years ago, and I've never really understood the importance of them. I just believe they're usually insects or something equally mundane. Why is there interest in them from a UFO/alien perspective?

No interest from an UFO/allien perspective but an interest because we are not really certain what they are

Are they too fast to die and leave remains as well? That's always been my biggest gripe with the Rods theory. If they exist they die. If they die there should be remains.

[sarcasm]Or, maybe rods die differently than the rest of our planets lifeforms. Perhaps they go strait from a solid living creature to gas?[/sarcasm]
