to others who have been fortunate to find a job they absolutly love, hurah. for the rest of us---why do we wake up and go to work only to pay out as much or more than we are paid! work is nothing more than creative prision. do the ducks have a job, what do you think they think when they see us pile into a building stacked with people tooling away with pointless numbers, concepts-- what does it all mean? were we meant to live out our lives spending in indoors shackeld to a desk, counter, or stand. i yearn to be free but what is freedom, freedom isnt free. it costs us taxes, and for the unfortunate souls who have to pay at the end of the year its even worse. is money the illusion or is work the illusion. or are they both an illusion created to keep us put.what do you guy's think??

I work for one reason and one reason alone ---- to provide for my family and to make sure they have the necessities and luxuries of this life. The world's barter system demands that we "work" in return for our pay. If you dont earn money, how else are you going to get it? Steal? We then can use what we have earned towards bettering our life and the life of our family, as well as give to those that are less fortunate. Work is a privilege, and nothing that you receive materially in this life is free.

I go to work for one reason also: namely to pay the taxes that Great(?)Britain asks of me. Coucil Tax, National Insurance, et al. And I pay into a private pension, but Heaven only knows Wha t that will be if I am lucky enough to live to pemsionalble age (God bless the NHS). What I have left over after a 40 hour week goes to food, bills, paying off our holiday in Greece, cat food, etc. I love money!

I'm an artist. so that means I can't really bitch & moan too much, but still do anyway.

All jobs no matter how much you love or hate it has ups & downs. I have one of the coolest jobs in the world but at the right place & wrong time it can be hellish.

I'm just waiting for the day when we can have a utopian societey where all our needs are provided for by robots.
Robot farmers, robot manufacturers, etc.

Hey, it could happen!
We just need a united vision!

You can decorate my robot for me when my vision is realised. smile.gif

Actually, robots will never be able to replace artists, so you're set.biggrin.gif

Well i study graphics design which covers the following if people dont know

Photography - i would love to become a photographer
Typography
Art History
Computer Aided graphics design
Graphics
Print
3D
Drawing

I dont have a job at the moment. Im looking and really want one. Simply because i dont like being skint anymore. It all comes down to money, more than wether you enjoy the work. Sure everybody would love a dream job, somethings they enjoy and want to do, but life doesnt go that simple all the time. Im now working to get the career i want to be in and hope i will enjoy it. Being a Graphics Designer.

My first year in college, i did Beauty Therapy, i passed and got my qualifications for the first year. But i hated it, i really did. It wasnt just the work i had to do though. I did enjoy some of it, like the paraffin wax, that was fun. But it also depends on wether you like/get on with the people you work with, that can also play a part in wether you enjoy it. I didnt get on with any of the girls, but i made a best friend, who im still best friends with today. She was like me. Insane personailty n stuff. The other people working in beauty therapy were very bitchy, ignorant, harsh, spiteful, back stabbing, air heads. I detest people like that. They dont deserve to have what they have when they treat people like there below them.

I enjoy my work but I would love to do nothing but potter around my allotment instead .

Still need someone to build/program the robots. You don't want to have robots building and programming themselves, that'd lead to trouble.

Most people work because it gives them some fulfilment in their lives. It gives them motivation to keep going. There are tons of people who probably dont need to work but still do, just because it's something to live for.

Is it the o2 or orange advert that was on a while ago, they built this new computer thing, it evolved to having a min dof its own and then it went of to destroy the world....but the plug then came out of the socket
