Norway is a great country to live in.
Great nature, nice people and alot of space..

There's only one thing... it doesn't get dark in the summer sad.gif
I havent seen a star, or anything from outer space, for weeks, maybe months now!
The only spot of light at night is our neighbour mars, and, no offense to mars, but it's getting borring.

I felt this perticulary after reading Trogs post about the dots of light that he filmed with his infra-red camera...

I love the summer, and i don't like the freezing in the winter, but i can't wait to be star-gazing again...

Thats wild crafth, I think I would go nuts without nightfall.

Stargazing is a wonderful thing to do, I feel for you hang in there!

Think of it this way since your not seeing the night sky right now, just think how extra beautiful it will look to you when you can see it again.

Such a simple thing with so much beauty, the blanket of night holds for us.

Just goes to show that we as human beings take allot of things for granted sometimes.

Thanks, mate.
I agree, there's so much beauty in the dark night sky.
And yes, i do so appreciate the first hours with a dark, starry sky at the end of the summer, especially when there is still a comfortable temperature at night...
In the mean time, i comfort myself talking about the marvels of the universe in forums like this smile.gif

yeah!
It's 1:30 in the morning now, and a clear blue sky.
The sun is just below the horizon, so the sky is orange in the north and dark blue in the south. And there i can see three stars! lol biggrin.gif

Thats just sad man... hey, do you guys get northern lights? you should film it. maybe video tape it, I have this technique for speeding up video you tape to 100x its speed. So it looks like a fast motion camera.

I just have to break it down into several segments and piece them together.

One thing I loved about my old house in Pittsburg California was how dark it was. We lived on the edge of this hill, and over the hill was the concord california naval weapons station. We actually had nuclear missile silos over the hill from where I lived (From what an old neighbor told me).

anyways, Thats where I saw Hail Bopp and on one of the nights of the comet was a total luner eclips, The eclips was east and the comet was west, so it was an amazing night. But there were so many stars you could see. I grew up in the greater bay area where you could only see maybe a few dozen stars because we were sandwich between Oakland and San Francisco. It kind of sucked. But Pittsburg was just awesome. Now, They built some 50 thousand homes since I moved from there, Its starting to get alot of light polution here in east county. Its nice to have Malls and stuff, but I miss the dark skies and the open fields where you could hear coyote and frogs at night. sad.gif

but yeah, I love sitting and spacing out in my backyard.

wow, that night with Hail Bob and the lunar eclips must have been a beautiful scene!

Yeah, we get northern lights here, but not as much as way up north (above the sircle). And since it isn't so dark, it's hard to see anyway...

I should film it one night, hmmm, but i don't have a digital camera yet, only analog, so i don't think your technique works on that?
