Ok, inspired by the Travis Walton thread. What do peolpe make of Whitley strieber?

I've read communion and it was certainly a good read, i've not read any of the others. I tried to read secret school but gave in. Am I right in thinking that he started to believe it was something other that ET's?

On the down side, Strieber adheres waaay too strictly to his often misconstrued notions of what is true. Refuses to consider that the power to say NO to negative entities is within us all. Refuses to see that he surrenders to them by submitting to fear. Refuses to ~look within~ when trying to understand why negative entities are drawn to him (or anyone) in the first place. And is overly conservative in his manner.

On the plus side, Strieber hates the government, is a fine writer, and is dead honest about his experiences - regardless of whether or not he truly understands them.

Here's a few threads about Whitley that have existed here in the past:

I personally used to love Strieber's work. Until Confirmation that is. And his book about Majestic 12. I started to think he was a bit kooky. Also, never forget that he was a fiction author before he wrote Communion. That has always not sat well with me. He knows how to write a convincing yarn....

Whitley deals the best he can, and still to this day, does not claim to -know- anything, but rather relates to the rest of us as best he can, what it has meant to him over the years. If nothing else, he displays great courage in my mind. Of course having seen this little bugger at the age of seven or so, probably influences my opinion somewhat...

T.C's mate, Peter Khoury, has also encountered this little guy as well.

"All of a sudden I looked my right side of the bed and I could see 3 or 4 figures wearing dark robes with hoods on their heads. Their faces were very wrinkled and shiny black in color."

As for Walken, what can I say...

Walken is such a good actor.

Was very sad that Andreas Katsulas who played his mate in the film, (better known for G'kar in Babylon 5) died a couple of months ago. He too was a brilliant actor.

Walken is my hero, my idol and my GOD. Or, you know, I always have a good laugh at how he plays the same character regardless of the role he was given. That's just plain awesome. "Starring Christopher Walken as Christopher Walken kind of dressed as some other person".

Those little blue guys needed to be in an 80s Jim Henson flick.
