As a 'newbie' to computers I do not know how to provide a link to view the 3D agriglyph (crop circle) that appeared in an English field on or around the date of the start of the Israel-Lebanon conflict this year. It can be found on the front page of the Times-Mirror newspaper. I interpret what I see as the descending of a missile into the center of a group of skyscrapers. (An omen?)

I have read the various posts of people on this subject of crop circles. One person asked why, with all the communication technology available in this world today, wouldn't the 'aliens' use some method more convincing?

I wonder what method he was referring to? Telephone, radio, video recorder? Would not the public say it could be a fake? Or should we expect the 'designers' to dare being shot down by attempting to land on the White House lawn?

I think creating huge, elaborate, geometrically perfect, scientifically unduplicatable designs in living crops is an absolutely stunning way of conveying the message 'You are not alone'.

Everyone who reads this has the means, with a few keystrokes and a little time, to investigate the validity for the claim that most of these designs are from a superior intelligence. Why don't we use this ability? It isn't difficult to find the investigative studies that have proven that the 'real' crop designs can be identified by:

1. Stalks of the affected plants are bent, never broken as well as there being no entrance or exit tracks into or out of the formations.

2. The tips of the affected plants are 'singed'. (slightly burnt)

3. The stems of the affected plants show evidence of being exposed to heating (microwaves) as evidenced by the expanding of their stalks and the exploding of their 'nodes'.

4. An increase in the magnetic levels in the affected area which may explain why batteries become quickly drained and why some mechanical devices quit operating when near or within the formation.

5. The electron-microscopic pictures of and subsequent photographs showing clearly that the 'touched' plants' cellular structure has become visibly and noticeably more 'integrated' than that of the plants outside the formation.

6. The elaborate mathematical and geometric nature of some of the formations. In one design, studied by a retired astronomer Gerald S. Hawkins and reported on extensively in the February 1, 1992 issue of Science News, stated he discovered 5 mathematical theorems within one formation. The article reads, in part: 'Remarkably, he (Hawkins) could find none of the these theorems in the works of Euclid. He was also surprised at his failure to find the crop-circle theorems in any of the mathematics textbooks and references, ancient and modern, that he consulted.' Hawkins said "It's easy to prove the theorem but so difficult to conceive it." One design studied in one particular crop formation was adopted and copied by a computer chip design making company for its latest computer chip.

7. The distinct 'weaving pattern' found within the formations, in some cases the plants are 'woven' in two layers, in opposite directions one layer on top of the other. Men using sticks and ropes cannot do these things.

8. The genetic mutating of the affected plants rendering them now as 'polyembryonic' in nature.

9. The layering of very fine balls of magnetite over the entire affected area.

10. The numerous and various physical, emotional as well as spiritual and psychological effects experienced and reported on by persons going into a 'real' crop circle formation.

I don't know if they still have it but there used to be a contest in England in which a large cash prize was offered to anyone who could produce a crop circle that could fool the judges into believing it was similar to the 'real' unexplainable formations. As far as I know no one was able to claim the prize.

To my way of thinking the 'real' formations are the most powerful means for any intelligently minded person to prove to himself that the source of these things is far beyond our present technology and so must be from another source. A further characteristic of the intelligently minded person is to not care if others, who haven't done the research don't believe it and to feel sympathy and understanding for those who have done the research but still don't believe it.

To fail to understand another's purpose doesn't make them confused. The British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle put these words into the mouth of his character Sherlock Holmes to demonstrate the simplest method of arriving at the truth about any matter: "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, 'however improbable' must be the truth."

Perhaps the existence of the crop circle phenomenon should not be so much about our attempt at understanding 'them' as much as it should be about the excellent opportunity we have at better understanding ourselves.

If the 'aliens' are looking for a consensus of intelligence on this planet perhaps they had better look elsewhere. As someone once stated: 'It first takes intelligence in order to recognize intelligence.'

Keep in mind that many crop circles are man made, probably a majority of them. They are getting better and better all the time.

People are getting better. If they got paid for it I'd call them pros. Its come a long way from a bunch of drunk people and some planks and rope.

Its true that people are finding ways to make them more and more complex, and even have some of the effects such as radiation and the little iron bits commonly found on the "true" ones down.

Post a photo of this 3D crop circle. I hope people are video taping themselves doing this. IR cameras are so cheap now, it wouldn't be hard to record yourself doing this in the dark. It will lay to rest weather these are truly fakes or not. I'm just wondering why no one lately has come forth. I still believe people are doing this but outside of that one group of guys from England, I have never seen anyone else come forth to claim responsibility. that in itself is a bit suspicious.

I agree trog, I think that since nobody has even said a truthful word about crop circle creation (like you said, outside of the England group) over the course of several decades, it makes you think. Human nature is to tell others about such things, and information spreads quick, I think you have a good point with your statement about the lack of crop circle makers reporting their creations.
