Hey, Heres my latest drawing.

(I had to capture to video since its too big to get in a single shot without it getting pixelised by alot.)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=KY4fNRz8ulg

Im using an EyeToy i set up as a webcam to do it sooo, it still isnt too great quality, and alot of the detailed shading you cant see.

It took 5 hours to get this far, I did it all in a normal HB pencil, then i darkened the details and used a 6b for the shadows, an a rubber to get the fade effect on them.
Mann, I was so into it lol, i was even going to put on one of my sisters dresses so i could watch how the shadows changed in the mirrors, (Witch without a doubt would leed to a very intresting convosation with a Phycologist in about 10 years) Luckly a friend did it for me, N it was good since she was a she, i wont be left with any deep scars :laugh:

Should i put colour into it? Because its taken this long to get up to it, i dont want to ruin it.
Also, theres something missing, i cant spot it though, can any of you?

(P.S. If you can see how it starts to change in certain areas, thats because i was listening to my MP3 player pretty much alway through, n i have many..... Differnt... Songs lol, + The styles change to the complete opposite alot.)

The next one i draws gonna be a ton better, got something called how to draw Manga, thats gonna help ALOT.

It's looking good, Xeno!
I always get nervous with colouring because I don't want to ruin the drawing. Sometimes the mood and style is caught just with the pencil lines. Something that might make the 'missing' feeling go away is darker contrast. When you only draw in black/white, it's almost impossible to go overboard on contrast. Especially in a witch drawing like the one you've drawn. Also you could make the image in the mirror a little bit darker so that there's a destinction between the real witch and the reflection. If you encounter two areas that are both very very dark, you can trick the eyes by gradually going from dark to light. Erh, look at the visual I've made below.

1) ::::::::::::::::::::::[]====================
2) :::::::::::::''''''''¨¨¨¨[]====================

1) how it looks in reality, but is too similar to draw clearly as seperate shades (dark hair against dark clothes for example)
2) how one could shade out the darkness gradually as one aproaches the other dark object/feature

= is darkest
: is the shade almost as dark
'' is a lighter shade
¨ is the lightest shade
[] the line that devides the two objects/features

:laugh: I hope you could make sence out of that!

I get it, Thanks smile.gif

So you mean like, It gets lighter towards the mirror, then dark again, as if the mirror was a source of light, just the mirrored image wasnt being lit.

Awesome drawing Xeno! :applause:

It's hard to give advice on something like art, as it is an expression of your own inner thoughts and feelings.

You could try to distort the mirror image a bit, smudging it in parts and using an eraser to 'lighten' areas maybe? I use that technique quite a bit.

As far as colouring the drawing, I don't know. I rarely use colour in my own art, but it could really bring the picture to life. Just go with your 'feelings' on that one... smile.gif
