I was just at the NASA site for the new Launch Vehicles that are supposed to replace the Shuttle and take us back to the Moon. The Orion orbiters/capsules(different sizes that's why plural)and the Ares I and Ares V rocket stages. Converted to cargo stage it's as big as a Saturn V Rocket.

Got lost bouncing around into the Press section looking at all the high-res CGI Images of the Moon with the new space suits, landers(small & Large), outposts, supply pods(I think)and rovers. Oh and by the way the whole crew goes to the surface, the command module(called the Constellation by the way)is on auto pilot(YeeHa!)Makes me wish I hadn't been born for another ten years. If and when this goes down some people are going to be very lucky.
Well if any one's interested go to:
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/constell...main/index.html

Start where it says +Home Constellation Program. Just go down the list to Orion, Ares, Multimedia, etc.. Lot of interesting things, some not so. Make sure to go to multimedia and click on the Launch Flash Feature and click video on the bottom right. It's a decent CGI animation of the project.

Hope some enjoy it.

I hear that, there planning for that also. You should check some of the CGI images they did of the mission and staying there.

There will be two sizes of landers, one for 3 and one for 7-9. They will be able to stay for 7 days at first. Once things get set up it will be longer. From the CGI images I'm guessing the'll be sending supplies separately of crew. Because they show these landers that look like they are for just supplies.

They will some very lucky people, the ones chosen to go. I was hoping we would be back by now. Oh well.

They are going to have seperate things for ppl then one for tools, food, etc... I read somewhere that right now it would take 35 years until we are ready to go to mars. Hopefully I will get in NASA in about 18-20 years. Do a few moon trips then I hope to go to mars. Gotta love my future job smile.gif
