Guys, please, when are we going to learn that camera lens have limits to their resolution capabilities? When you do an extreme zoom-in on a very distant light source, you are going to get a distorted image. Now, c'mon - good people died in this incident. Don't tarnish their memory with this.

i dont thinks its COMPLETELY out of focus. slightly yes. completely no. the purple beam people are talking about is just light reflecting off of the unknown object. i remember when this was on foxnews, i was watching it cause of the crash that day to see what had gone wrong, they zoomed in on this thing and i was like WTF?!?! they never said a word about it from what i can remember after it was on the air and i just remember being like what was that i just saw on the tv. all i gotta say is thank god for TIVO!!! |

Thanks for the replies.Can anyone shed any light onto this footage?.It was apparently picked up and shown on many TV networks making the presumption that this was a hoax perpetrated by fox news unlikely.

I think Fox news perpetrating a hoax on the day of a national tragedy streches the limits of credulity a little too far.
