I like to keep them short. I know some of you want to give as much detail as possible but If I can say this without insulting anyones intelligence I, would like to say that some of these threads have huge pages of information to read. Almost like an eBook. I'm just wondering how everyone else feels about long posts. Is it possible to edit them down so people can understand what is being said and move on to the next subject?

Heh...funny noone.
What if people who wrote long winded posts -summerized the bulk of their thoughts at the end of their messages. Write an "In other words..." so that people with ADHD or short attention spans in general, do not miss your post by glossing over it -all together.

It depends completely on the subject and the way it's written. I can read quite a bit as long as it interests me, some things in here are realy fascinating.

I can read chapters on top of chapters -but I do need paragraph breaks or it will start to all blur together. Isn't that odd, Crafth?

I don't know, but i don't think it's strange. I too need paragraphs, on a screen that is, in a book it's fine otherwise. Specially on a white screen with black text, that does blur together. It hurts the eyes concentrating to keep the lines seperate. So paragraphs is a must in long posts!

I think the colour of the background and font has loads to tell though. I like the grayish bg with the green text (wink.gif) really good!

I agree...at PFX, I like how that forum has a taupe background -it's more gentle on the eyes. Yeah see, we can read books on paper without a problem but online, like on forums -it plays havoc on our eyes.

Well, to be honest, the shorter the better. But fail to space it out enough and people can miss the damnedest things.

One has to be rather smooth on the subject of reading to take a big bad post and see the rather simple things that were said.

There is not much of an excuse in this world for resisting the written word.

Also, I know that I can be a long writer, so I will try to take the hint and make them shorter.
