When I was really little, my parents and my grandparents took me to the hunting shack. The Hunting Shack is a pseudonym for a small shack my grandparents own in northern Minnesota. The Shack was demolished a while back, but they still own the land. When I went on that trip...I remember the sights and sounds from the secluded forest. Where the shack is at is in a dense Pine forest, near a small road that leads to a very small town. We are miles away from any slight sign of civilization (excluding the small road and the power lines). After a fun filled day of doing nothing except being a kid, I fell asleep. Durring the middle of the night... I awoke. I had to pee. So...I left the safety of the small shack, and walked barefoot to the out house. The Out house is nestled in the forest about 1/16 of a mile away. The trail used to get to the outhouse was a small path. I had no flashlight...and the moon wasn't really shining. The trees definately helped with shading out the light of the stars and moon. But I could see clearly. There was a bright light...almost like a gigantic halogen light shining through the forest about 100, or 200 feet away. I simply continued to walk to the outhouse. I opened the door, took a leak, then left. I had no odd memories other than that I could see the silhouette of humanlike figures walking in the forest. I saw them through the light. I walked back to the hunting shack...and just went to sleep. Nothing odd seemed to happen to me. Its just that those strange memories and occurances remained in my mind. It never seemed odd to me until I was reading a book, and a man in the book did the same as I did when something odd was occuring.

be interesting to find out how the books author came up with the idea of the man who did what you did as a child.
