I wonder with the debris field covering such a large area if long after the military left the area anyone managed to find any of the foil like substance and maybe they have it in a trinket box somewhere and they really don't understand what an important find it could be ( i.e. they have no interest in ufos? maybe they've forgotten about it? ) i often wonder about this your thoughts please.:headscrat

I would think it very likely that some momentos are around. I can just see some serviceman bringing a find like this home to Hackensack, NJ, when he got out of the military. In all the readjustment to civilian life, such an item would be sruck in an old shoebox along with photos of bygone times, and the whole thing forgotten.

My wife and I go to a lot of estate auctions, which are very common in this part of America. Often at these sales, because the person who had the property is dead, no one really knows what all is even there to be sold. Many times the sales are ordered by the courts so that the money from all real estate and chattle goods can be divided equally among thr heirs.

Everything is sold at these, and I mean everything., right down to boxes and such out of the attic or basement. I'm always keeping an eye out for the unusual. You just never know when something interesting will turn up. There could be hundreds of "keepsakes" out there that the people have passed on and the new owners don't recognize the item as important.

Rest assured that I try to never let the odd flotsam and jetsam of life get by me without notice. I've been known to purchase a box of junk just because something caught my eye as being unusual. (You wouldn't believe the stuff my wife and I have 'rescued' over the years.) Sadly, I've not found anything that fits in with UFOs, but there's always the next time.

These sales are a sort of strange hobby for us, and who knows what will turn up?

TheWatcher, are these auctions or more like a flea market where you just pick up what you want to buy and purchase it?

TheWatcher: those auctions sound like fun. There is nothing like that in my area AFAIK.

I saw a documentary about Roswell where this guy took back a piece of the 'foil' back to show his family, and it behaved like memory metal (you bend it, fold it, and it unfolds back). I also wonder whether anyone else took a souvenir before it all got the attention of the government (balloon or not).

Actually trog, we go to both actions and flea markets. As a matter of fact, because we end up with so much 'stuff', we also sometimes sell at flea markets.

But the greatest chance of finding something odd is at estate sales. At these sales the main buyers are looking for furniture, coins, guns, fishing gear, antiques, and other such things to add to their own collections or for resale. Because of this, sometimes boxes of odds and ends are often sold in groups of ten or so, just to get rid of them.

While these boxes are mostly the clutter you find in every household, like old dishes and broken pocket knives and such, once in a while really neat things show up. I must have over a hundred old black and white photos, some frome the late 1800s. We've found rolls of old wheat pennys, diaries, newspapers of the moon landings and JFK being killed, pocket watches from the early 20th century, and just a bit of everthing.

I am a bit of a history nut so I really examine all these old things, and sometimes even make a decent profit on reselling some of them. Those items that really interest me I end up keeping. When my wife and I die, someone is going to have a real pile of stuff to go through. smile.gif

I keep hoping that one day I'll find something relating to UFOs. I guess that's why the post by oskar got my attention. I didn't realize anyone else wondered if there were finds to be made like that. I feel sure that it is only logic that there are some. Maybe I'll get lucky someday.

P.S. The Holy Grail would be finding an old diary from some one at Roswell or one of the other crash sites. Or to find old military paperwork that proved that the government had a UFO and hid it.

I'm guessing he is talking about this Roger Lier:

"There is an ufologist, Mr. Roger Leir, who claims that there is a special device that detects the implant frequency." link

Also, he seems to have done 10 surgeries to remove implants, which was discussed on "Let's Talk Paranormal". link

First time I've heard about him, though. Looks like his thing are implants, which he talks about with Darrel Sims. I have not seen a reference to pieces of the Roswell crash.

"Dr. Roger Leir, a podiatric Surgeon with 40 years of private practice in southern California, spoke about the eleventh implant surgery. See www.alienscalpel.com. Tests on some of the objects show isotopic ratios “not of this world.” He is now studying the physiological and biological aspects of the abduction phenomenon." link

Hey oskar, if anyone had the clout to find out secrets, and the money to bribe the right doors open, it should be this guy. Has he made any statements himself, or is he just being the rich sidekick?

I tried the link, but it's broken. I'll look and find him though.

Actually, the link may be good and the fault with my server; I have the wonderful peasant.com connection out here in the sticks. sad.gif
