West Midlands police reported Channel 4 to the British regulator for the communications industry, the Office of Communications (known as Ofcom), over the documentary, something which was none of the police's business--it is unprecedented for the police to report anything to Ofcom over any broadcast.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/6936681.stm They were clearly overstepping their bounds and what is more, their allegations--that the documentary was a distortion and had taken the remarks of Islamic clergymen out of context--were completely groundless. Just watch the documentary yourselves at Karl's link, you will see how it is impossible to have taken the remarks out of context. Ofcom rejected the claims of the The West Midlands police and the Crown Prosecution Service and both were going to be sued by Channel 4 for libel. The police and CPS have since apologized to Channel 4 and are going to pay £100,000. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/7401704.stm The activities within the documentary are, according to the law of the land, illegal: you may not incite violence. One police force decided, however, to shoot the messenger. |

Andrew -thanks for the comprehensive reply,I think everyone should view this video as it quite illuminating and shows the high levels of indoctrination, brainwashing and conditioning that occurs, even to young children,at a great many mosques in the UK. All the best mate. Karl -------------------- Hubble deep field image:
