That's crazy. Did you see the speed of those things taking off from formation? I would've said flares, but then the 'flares' took off to high speed from a dime. Faster than helicopters, too.

Relative to other things that fly, I did not think they were moving extremely fast. I mean fast yes, but jets can fly faster. And the fact that they are moving behind a mountain and never appearing again is fishy to me. Just my opinion.

I read where some people were saying they were cars I wonder if there is a road on that mountain?

The only problem with cars is they seem to be moving much too fast for the car theory....Can`t really tell what they are, just some lights in the sky thats all.

Maybe they were helicopters or some secret project and the goverment it removed from youtube i wonder why because someone might have caugt them with there pants down!

Well, I realize that, but these things started from a dead stop. Maybe a Harrier jet-type of technology. I think these were too fast to be helicopters.

Its been removed from youtube i watched it yesterday a couple of times and it looks like cars reflecting light going up the mountain sorry in my opinion i dont think this is anything to get worked up about.

well, no roads on the mountain, checked google earth. This is a real video, not cgi. this is as real as it gets. not planes, not cars, not cgi, good old fashion UFOs.

I've seen many in my time and the second I saw this footage I knew it was the real thing. there is so much going on in this video it's amazing. I've seen similar activity once in my life and it was much closer than this, that's how I know beyond a reasonable doubt that this is a big deal. I also have some more info from the person who took this footage, here it is.

Hi everyone

I'm the author of this video, first of all I want to apologize for posting only 28 secs, but I have this filmed on DVD quality and due to you tube limitations I cannot upload more than 100MB per video, this one complete is about 2Gigs. I just posted this little sample to see if there was some interest. Now I'm re sampling all the material I have and It will be posted soon on you tube.

Now I would like to give some explanations on this video.

It was filmed on December 16, 2003 from the 8th floor of a building in Santiago, Chile. around 9:00pm, you can locate this building on Google earth at:

My department headed SW, and as you should see the nearest mountain is about 20 miles away.

I have some films of Helicopters in the same area, but they look very different, just like helicopters

As far as I know there are no roads with that shape on those mountains, there is an airport nearby, but I checked the flight schedule and any special event on that airport without any unusual activity

These lights are moving around an area of about 30 linear miles, i believe this is too fast for a car, a plane or a helicopter.

This was the first one I filmed and is dated one year before (12-12-2003).

I saw this stuff about five times in two years and I've sent the footage to a local TV station. They refused to broadcast it without any explanation.

I showed this videos to several friends and family, but nobody seems to have a rational explanation of what is shown here.

And why wait about 3 years?, well I filmed this, I show this to a lot of people including UFO researchers here in Chile and TV stations without any concrete response of what it was. I saved these videos on a box, I moved to a house, and continue with my life, I'm not an UFO enthusiast and I don't even want to be remembered as "the guy who filmed some UFOs" or what could be worst, as "the guy who put a UFO hoax on the web and cheated everyone", so I almost forgot the whole thing.

Last week I was making some order on my new house, and I found this footage on a box, so i decided to publish this stuff on you tube to see if there is someone with any explanation that satisfies me.

I know for sure that these were not bikes or helicopters, I have seen a lot of airplanes on that area (as someone else said, there is an airport in Santiago) and they didn't look like this.

The flares theory intrigues me, I would like to see a video of flares to see if they look the same, in fact what I have seen until now is that everyone has his theory but nobody has a sample of how a dirtbike (for instance) would look on a similar environment. Some guy talked about the scientific method, but how can you make an affirmation of what you are seeing here without a control test showing the same thing?. In the end is simple, I would like to see a video of bikes, helicopters, airplanes or anything on this earth behaving the same way on similar conditions as this lights and I'll be happy with that as a valid answer.

Doesn't that depend on your definition of UFO? I agree they are unidentified but for me the most likely explanation is Helicopters....I find it interesting that vehicles which some would argue traversed Millions of miles past an asteroid belt, meteorites, space debris and all the other associated 'stuff' up there, need headlights to cut through the night sky in Santiago......doesn't that strike you as odd?

No. It does not strike me as odd. In spirit, your reasoning is correct. However, let's remember that when it comes to UFO's- we know absolutely nothing. Therefore, at this present time in history, assertions and assumptions should not yet be allowed to reinforce mundane explanations, however feasible they may seem. For all we know, these are simply probe-like objects on a midnight excursion. Look at the vids he posted in that link-these craft are performing maneuvers at speeds no helicopter can perform. None that I’m aware of, anyway.

Also, I'm simply assuming they are man-made craft anyway, not necessarily craft with little green men inside. Yes, It's an assumption, but one that makes more sense to me than the helicopter theory.

Show me a vid of some choppers that can do that (against the mountainside they are travelling faster vertically than any chopper I know of-look at the distance covered!) and then I will change my mind. However, until then, just like the guy who took these vids (giving him the benefit of the doubt that they are indeed legit) I'm looking for a superior explanation.

You just had watched one of the best UFOs videos and still there's so many excuses and silly ideas like cars or something else. There's much to be done and it's going to be hard to open people's minds when some people just don't want to believe.

Boy, you nailed that on the head, this video has to be one of if not the best ever taken and it's amazing that someone could come to the conclusion that this is helicoptors.

They look or act nothing like helicoptors, not even close. I could go on and on about what's going on in this video and show footage of helicoptors and everything else that will look nothing like what happens here but I'm not going to waste my time.

If people can't see this for what it is, welll I'll stick to my original thought, they should get a new hobby
