HI,

I joined this forum because I have had a strange experience while taking a ferry from Livorno, Italy to Sardegna. We went onto the deck at 05.45 to watch the dawn and our arrival at the port of Olbia; I decided to take some pics with my digital camera. I took the first pic towards the right front of the ship though I wasnt expecting to see anything as it was quite dark still and I could only just see the landscape. There was one small light to the right and the port lights to the left. When I looked at the photo there was a large glowing sphere almost at the centre of the picture with two smaller ones in the distance. I had also caught part of the ship in the foreground which gave a certain depth to the scene. I decided to take another photo, this time at right angles to the ship with the coast directly in front of me so there was no possibility of strange light reflections as the coast of Sardegna is quite barren. The large sphere was there but higher and less luminous with another smaller in the distance. The third photo was taken looking toward the rear of the ship and the dawn sky; no sphere's were present. My question is....is there anyone who can explain it? Should I be reporting it to anyone and will they think I'm a loon? sadly I had the camera setting on low resolution as i intended to take lots of pics of my holidays, so on seeing the images on the pc the detail is scarce but good enough.

As Liselle says Mairi - it would help enormously if we could see the pics and if you have any difficulty uploading then please PM me or any of the other Mods here and the process will be explained to you. I do hope you return as we'd all like to see them. I should say that whilst I accept such phenomena exists, there are multi and varied reasons why orbs can appear in pictures - but without seeing them first hand there's just no way anyone can offer an opinion even with the detailed description you've given above - which we thank you for.

Based on your description, it may be that you have photographed objects known as orb's believed to be "Light Energy ORB Consciousnesses".

I recently attended a wedding reception and took a bunch of pictures using my digital camera. To my surprise, there were orb's in several of the photo's. In one picture, a lady has fallen to the dance floor (don't really want to go into what she was doing :laugh: ) anyway, a very bright orb is seen near her while other dimmer orb's are visible throughout the picture. The other pictures show orb's including one I took outside.

Is there a resemblance to what you see in your pictures?

Ok thank you Ben and nite nite lol. The second one is now actually the third i made a mess trying to down load it first time but then got it; sorry for messing. Like I said the quality of the pics is bad as I had the cam on low setting...........I'm still kicking myself believe me !!

RazorBurn, Thanks for your post. I'm afraid if I had taken my pics in a dico type of place with all kinds of light reflections I wouldn't even be here as I would have put it down to that and not even thought anymore about it. But like i said the shore of Sardegna is barren, this is because in history the Sardi didnt build their houses near the coast for fear of invaders. There was no moon either and I was sure my photo would be just black. I have the phone number of another passenger who was next to me and had joked about me taking a picture of blackness, only to be astounded at what we saw on the camera.

Hello again Mairi, I am not disputing your pictures nor am I trying to convince you of anything regarding my pictures. I simply posted them to assist you with your question

Yes there were many lights flashing as you say like in a disco however, you can see the reflections of these disco lights reflecting their prospective colours. Also, the orbs show up where there should be no reflection of any kind if you consider the math, it doesn't make sense. One of the pictures I show is outside and away from the disco lights as well. I have other pictures with identical orb's I have taken that are outside, different place and different time of year. Orb's have shown up in photographs everywhere including space (NASA), under water, etc.

I believe you completely when you say "There was no moon either and I was sure my photo would be just black". It is often when you least expect this sort of thing to show up in your pictures when they do. I have looked at your pictures closely and in my personal opinion believe you have orb's in the pictures. In both pictures, I have counted approximately a dozen orb's, some are very faint and hard to see.

Thanks Razor, I was just saying I would never have even though the spheres anything other than reflected light if I hadnt been in complete dark. Now I'll be taking out years of pics to check lol.

I'm hoping someone will give me a technical explination or I'm going to be clicking all over the night sky from now on , lol.

These are 'moisture' orbs. The fact that you a) are on a boat and outside means they could either be reflection orbs created by the flash reflecting on water splashed from the boat, rain drops or moisture (dew) in the air.

Thanks for sharing the photos though. You never know what you are going to catch in pics!

Thanks everyone. It couldn't have been splashes because I was on a ship not a boat and to high from sea level to be splashed. The moisture could be a valid argument and I had considered it, and was sure it was the cause. All in all I think it's explained better by the link Razor gave me......you should all read it.

Mairi - they weren't crap pictures at all. You shouldn't listen to people here who say such things. You weren't trying to capture anything in particular, they are in focus, there's no blur.. so infact they are pretty decent pictures really!
