I came across this "Morressey/Diane" connection.
In short, it claims Morrissey's song "The light that never goes out" somewhat talks of Princess Diana's fatal car crash in details. The Song is from the Album "The Queen is Dead". I hope this wasn't posted before. It's kind of old. |

Don't know about that Oskar, The Smiths were not depressing, but when he went solo that changed things.

I like the Smiths and I Like morrissey as a solo artist (though it's just another band.. dont know why he left the Smiths).
The music is somewhat funny and somehow I relate to the darkness and haunting sound. I like Echo and the Bunnymen and Wire and some of the other bands that have that same dark sound. sounds kind of emoish, but All these bands only reflect the current world condition of that time. The Reagan years were pretty depressing with so many people out of work. Drugs were still popular in those days. I guess Drugs really never left our culture completly but drugs were far more acceptable back then, then they are now. I'm not pro drug use but lets face it.. I don't think the beatles or the Doors or Jimmy Hendrix would have had the same vibe had they not experimented with drugs. drugs make for good art. People say the 1980s was the last true decade. Once the late 80s and early 90s came around.. everything in the world went high tech and computers took over. look at all the shit music we have today. sorry if this was off topic. |

Interesting. Irish Blood English Heart the best song by Morrisey I believe.
I think he must have had some sort of hunch into it psychicly. Or it could be coincidence. |
