Yes i believe that. I don't think it was anyones individual deep desire to become a Christian i think it was the fact that they were raised around them that made em one. If you think about it if a person whose a Christian now was born in Iraq instead i highly doubt they are going to be a Christian they are going to be a Muslim. the same thing if a Muslim was born in India their probably gonna be a Hindu. In some places your taught one fairy tale and in others your taught another.

I agree but whats your point, thats just stating the obvious. I dont think anyone can argue that your born with a desire that favors one religion over another. Wow this statement will bring back fond memories cause I used to say it all the time: Religion is a safety blanket and a blind fold.

Just as with anything else, when done in the name of our "best interest." Now all we have to learn how to do, is kick all the scoundrels and crooks out.

Which is something that'll never happen. Humans are born opportunists, and some opportunists are always gonna be out for themselves.

You wouldn't suggest that there is nothing inherently "evil" about this though? Maybe this is why we have religion in the first place ... except the wrong people have gotten into power? In other words I wouldn't scorn the need for religion, as much as I would scorn what has cropped up in its place.

Evil actions deserve punishment. Bad monkey, get punished. Morality has nothing to do with religion. Morality's roots are far deeper in time, and can be observed in ape society. Scratch my back, I'll scratch yours comes from animal nature, too. It's all about give & take. I DO scorn the need for religion, because I think it obscures the true causes of human (i.e. animal) nature, and how to rise above it.

Ok, I'll bite.

If what you are saying is true, then everyone who grows up in America should be a Christian... and everyone that grows up in Iraq should be a Muslim. The fact of the matter is that everyone in America isn't a Christian, even if they were brought up in a Christian house hold. Plus people who live in Iraq aren't all Muslim. Yes, where people are born can influence the way they are brought up and dictate the religions that are exposed to them, but it is then down to the individual to continue that religion, or take up another.

Believe it or not Christians do become Muslims and vice versa... it doesn't matter if you are born in Australia, China or where ever, people can still change their religion, or chose no religion at all. People in the end tend to go for the religion that makes sense to them... not just because of the location they are in.

yes christians can become muslims but i guarantee you that the number of people that have done that is dwarfed by those who are christians and become christians. And most religous people i talk to can not explain very far why their religion makes sense to them, why? cause they don't make sense.
