I like this idea. Not only does it weed out the spam bots, it also weeds out to morons.

It's only when you first log in Trog, it's to try and stop the spam bots....

That's strange trog... just your luck for that to happen to you like that.. poor thing... but yeah, it would get rather annoying if that keeps happening like that...

Maybe it has something to do with the way you have your thingamagig options set... I know, the search engine you use...

I get it when I first log on and there was a time when it asked me if I was human I said nope, I'm a Dog and it wouldn't let me into the forum...

I'll direct this thread to the Admin and see what he has to say about that...

even the time out session seems to be lowered. it took me less then 2 minutes to read response and when I went to type in here, I have to relog back in

I'm just curious if someone can write a script bot that can get passed it. I remember old dialup boards would have a bot script which pretended to be an Admin and at times it could go 2 or 3 minutes before you realized it was repeating itself.

Heya Trogg
long time no see.
Try clearing out your temporary internet files, your caches including the java cache, delete all cookies etc, dlete your history, then reboot. If you do this you will be prompted again for all your passwords and remembered settings. This might fix it? Like as not you will get a message asking if you want windows to remember this password or whatever.
Try that, let us know how it goes.
Cheers mate

You know, I spent 10 minutes posting a thread with my cookies off and it wont post. Why do i have to have my cookies set on to post on here?

why do you ban people who are a little pushy and want to debate topics such as 911 but you don't ban people who feel it's ok to mock peoples comments.

I agree some things on here are pure spam. Maybe I have spammed a few times in your opinion but unless it's clear someone is trolling or spamming there is no need to ban someone who is agressive about debating a subject which I have seen on here several times. I miss the older alien-ufos.com some 2 or 3 years back. Everyone seemed to be on the same channel even though we didn't agree on the same thing. I didn't even see a fight on here until about 2 years ago.

Ben, I respect many of your posts but I at times feel you mock people who believe in Alien life, abductions or even the 911 conspiracy but no one can ban you or your account because you're a Mod. I know forums need two sided opinions to make it a forum. So why are so many of you newer users on here being allowed to be so objectionable about what others type (many who have stop coming here I might add) and yet they get to keep their accounts.

Why does this site make money with all its links to Ufology DVDs, Books and Events when its own moderators are mostly critics of the same thing that is being advertised off this site?

Why am I forced to turn my Cookies on in order to post on here. No other site I know of forces me to relog in when their forum's cookies are shut off. Cookies are a script to monitor a persons activity in order to find out their interests and in some cases are used to keep an eye on a persons surfing behavior.

So why these echo script? I had a friend who showed me a cookie that allowed him to view what a person was typing the moment he types. It's called an "echo script" . Not all cookies are echo scripts, but you can tell when an echo script is on by the cursor's behavior. how it flashes or blinks and there seems to have a slight sluggish feel to it. I'm getting that when i log onto this site. by pointing this out someone will just say I'm being paranoid. Well I'm not being paranoid when I cant post without cookies being set and being forced to rewrite what I typed before or now having to say "Hi" or "Im Human" everytime I log on.

And based on the time, I was the first to post this question. But I was merged with another user who posted the same question some 10 minutes later and he had 4 several responses that followed.

Please don't tell me I'm being paranoid for asking these basic questions.

Can't you put the accounts of regulars on some kind of "approved list" so we do not have to bother with these questions which now seem to be cropping up much more frequently. Has there been an instance of someone's account being hijacked by a spambot? I don't think there has been, so it does not make sense that we have to answer these questions.
