Hi everyone. I'm new here.

I couldn't find this in a search... please forgive if it's already been talked about.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PotaI-_jyk

I wanted to get people's opinion on this young woman named Karin, thoughts, impressions, and any additional info you might have on her.

Parts 1 and 2 are good but they seem incomplete. Can anyone point me to the full documentary, or to more info about Karin?

Thanks!

Hi Imagination and welcome to the forum, It can be difficult accepting personal testimony of someones experiences, but she does seem quite genuine, the 2nd video is very emotional and goes into more detail, and both videos do seem incomplete, the only info I can find is a link to the book about her, but I too would be interested in any other links our members can find. :xmascheer

Karin's story and the clip posted can be found in the documentary "Touched". More on the film can be found here:

Blind Dog Films - Touched

You'll find Karin in the trailer posted on the "Touched" website.

Karin worked with Dr. John Mack and parts of her story can be found in the book "Abduction" by Mack. I also believe she is mentioned in Mack's "Passport to the Cosmos".

http://www.johnemackinstitute.org/passport/

Quite a film. A fair shake from an impartial documentary filmmaker.

“About six months ago, I was asleep in my bed, with Yoko, at home, in the Dakota Building. And suddenly, I wasn’t asleep. Because there was this blazing light round the door. It was shining through the cracks and the keyhole, like someone was out there with searchlights, or the apartment was on fire.

“That was what I thought — intruders, or fire. I leapt out of bed, and Yoko wasn’t awake at all, she was lying there like a stone, and I pulled open the door. There were these four people out there.”

“Fans?” I asked him.

“Well they didn’t want my f---in’ autograph. They were, like, little. Bug-like. Big bug eyes and little bug mouths and they were scuttling at me like roaches.”

~John Lennon (as told to Uri geller)

Only problem is Uri Geller was a convicted con artist, I'd take that statement with a grain of salt

Hey, STARDUST. I think I came by Karin and her story just through searching youtube. It struck me that the video was well presented, and Karin had a certain quality that worked well with the camera. Rollerblading in Florida with your head down like that though... seems risky! You could run into an old lady or an alligator or something. Thanks.

I watched the twelve minute long preview from the link Earthguy provided us. I liked it. One of the most striking features was the arrogance, ignorance and stupidity of the Harvard man interviewed about John Mack. He talks about "ability to consider you might be wrong..." etc, and basically lays out what is precisely his problem. It seems to me that's exactly what Mack was willing to do, to consider that question. It looks like a really worthwhile film. Look at the prices though. Steep!

While I'm not sure about the "convicted" aspect of your statement, Geller is always one to be taken with a grain of salt (along with just about any other anecdotal story re UFO/Aliens). However, there is an aspect of this anecdote that helps it along in the truthfulness department. It was not Lennon's first brush with UFO's, as noted many times. His 1974 "Walls and Bridges" album contained the statement on the back cover, ""On 23 August 1974, I saw a UFO J.L.".

He also interspersed references to this is several songs he wrote.

"There's UFO's over New York, and I aint too surprised..." - Nobody Told Me, from the album Milk and Honey

"Like a UFO you came to me, and blew away life's misery..." - Out of the Blue, from the album Mind Games.

So we do have a 'history' as far as Lennon's experiences goes. The second and most important aspect of Geller's account is the fact that Yoko was involved as stated in the story. Lennon say's (through Geller) that he showed her the egg like object given to him and told her the story. To this day, I do not believe she has disavowed Gellers account and it is known she is quite protective of Lennon's image and history. If she were to come out and say, "no, this incident didn't happen", as she most likely would have if it didn't, then we could put this one in the "Geller's full of it" basket. I suspect he squared it with her and got her permission before he ever wrote it out of a fear she would disavow it if it wasn't true.

As far as the expense goes to purchase the film "Touched", Laurel would most likely give you a break if you contacted her and told her it was for personal use. She did for me (almost three years ago)....smile.gif

All this a tad off topic, and for me, Karins story was very reminiscent of an "old hag" experience. However, the "bug" aspect is one that is told many times throughout these anecdotal abduction stories (see Strieber, Lennon and others) and lends -some- credence to her long history with all this.

So the bug aspect would be the female version of the "old hag" archetype?

Not neccesarily. In Karin's description of the experience (the one in the trailer) she describes an entity that visited while she slept, she felt immobilized, extreme fear and the entity appeared to hover over her or was on her in close proximity. This is very much like the classic "old hag" experience. More on that here:

http://paranormal.about.com/library/weekly/aa112000a.htm

However, Karin's saw a "bug", has a long history of abduction like experiences -not- associated with a nighttime bedroom scenario and many other's describe the same bug like entity. There are those who would claim this a version of the "hag", but I suspect it was more than that. Sometimes a "bug", is a "bug".
