All you need to do is answer true or false to this.

Has Japan ever been on American soil? T or F?

Define "American" soil. The Phillipines were a colony and they took that. Guam was a colony. They took that. Alaska was a territory and they took several islands there.

They didnt invade any States that I know of, if they did it would have been a guy coming on shore from a sub. They shelled oil fields near L.A. from a sub.

EDIT: Oh. Plus their embassy, per international law, is Japanese territory.

The questions is ambiguous. In state visits Japan has had an official presence on US soil. But the country of Japan has always been where it is, and it is absurd to say that one country has been on the soil of another when they are seperated by an ocean.

It’s pretty cool to learn new stuff about history that we weren’t told about in K-12, or at least I wasn’t told about it when I was going through public school.

I still remember being told the North American Natives were ‘savages’ and needed to be ‘enlightened & civilized’ by the Europeans… ~rore

What is really sad is that even when I was in elementary school they still taught Native American history on that note, didn't say a damn thing about any of their accomplishments, just how they were inferior to the Europeans. But, of course, they were still non-offensive because they used 'Native American' and not 'Indian'.

yes. (true) the japanese landed on the Aleutian islands (alaska) during WWII. the invasion took place in early june 1942, the battle lasted until May of 1943.

we sent a poorly equipped winter weather force. the natives showed them how to survive and were used as forward scouts.

this was the first action for the Devil's Brigade, a joint US / Canadian special forces unit. this was also canada's first combat of the war.

our casualties were mostly due to bad weather, or rather the inexperience of fighting in subarctic conditions.

what was the name of the documentary? i'd like to see it.

I dont know what the name of the program was, all I know is it was the history channel. I was channel surfing and I heard them say Japan in Alaska and it caught my attention and I watched it. I had no idea that even happened. I didnt hear any thing about it in school. And I will also tell you something else,my hubby who is almost 70 didnt even know they had been there.
