I wondered how long it would be.....
Pakistani former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has been assassinated in a suicide attack.
Ms Bhutto - the first woman PM in an Islamic state - was leaving an election rally in Rawalpindi when a gunman shot her in the neck and set off a bomb. At least 16 other people died in the attack and several more were injured. President Pervez Musharraf condemned the killing and urged people to remain calm but angry protests have gripped cities across the country. Security forces have been placed on a state of "red alert" nationwide. There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the attack. Analysts believe Islamist militants to be the most likely group behind it....Cont Here -------------------- Nathanial "a_skeptic" Meade 1979-2007 RIP |

I dont think the Pakistani govt did it itself..they just didnt do anything to stop it from happening.
And now they are trying to calm people by distancing the death from the actions of the assassin. Now they are claiming the died by hitting her head on a lever in the car when ducking or falling. Blatant lie. First they said it was a bullet. Then shrapnel. NOW its a lever. I do doubt the bullet story. The guy rides up on a motorbike..bomb strapped to himself. Pulls a pistol and shoots two or three times (depending on who you ask) and immediatly sests off his bomb. Unless he is quite a marksman (which is possible) he wouldnt be able to hit her. Anyway, its just going to get messier now.. and lucky us, Pakistan has nukes. |

There was no reason for Pakistani Muslims to accept an Oxford-educated Western-trained woman forced on them as leader of their country in the name of Euro-American fake so-called "democracy".
Sham Western "democracy" is only interested in ripping them off through multinational corporations and promoting wars of aggression (such as in Afghanistan), while promoting corrupt western "values" such as homosexuality, usury and feminism. Why should they accept any of this? It goes against every principle of the Koran and Muslim tradition, as well as making a mockery of the Pakistani nation. Bhutto was president of the Oxford Union - the same Oxford Union which hosted Kissinger, Carter, Jerry Springer, porn star Ron Jeremy, Kermit the Frog and other such representatives of Western decadence - and which denied the right of free speech to David Irving. Similarly, there would be no reason at all for US citizens to accept a US President trained in Pakistan who had attended the University of Karachi. We wouldn't accept it. Why should they?? |

a) They had elected her twice before so obviously your take on the situation is.. to be kind.. wrong.
If they didnt want her, they simply didnt have to VOTE for her.

It is apparent that Bhutto was killed by a bullet, judging from this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq-DwHXx4oI There was apparently no motorbike and he got very close. However, what purpose does it serve for the Pakistani government to make the claims that they are making? It seems that they are lying, but why are they doing so? Clearly there was an attempt on her life, both by a gunman and a bomber simultaneously and twenty other people were killed at the same time. What does it really matter what the ultimate cause of death was if she was killed during an assassination attempt? Is it to try to say that the protection she was afforded was not inadequate? |

I think they are trying to create as much distance as possible between the actual killer and her death. Obviously its difficult because she is dead and everyone knows there was an attack.. so they are pushing the bogus story just to create a bit of space..in the hopes that if people believe she didnt die directly at the hands of the assassin there will be less unrest.
Or they could be just in such a habit of lying about everything they cant control themselves. |

December 27, 2007 was a sad day for the entire world.
Disbelief was my first reaction when I just read the news. And shock. Shock at that violence – 21 dead, 100 wounded. Serious security lapses and the fact that she was murdered 10 days before – and not after – the elections, all point to a political assassination. A striking resemblance to what took place in Karachi (Karāci) on October 18, 2007 - the day Benazir Bhutto returned to Pakistan; an attack in which 130 persons were killed. -------------------- Ille potens sui, laetusque deget cui licet in diem dixisse: 'Vixi': cras uel atra nube polum Pater occupato uel sole puro. - Q. good riddance....i cant believe she had the nerve to play the savior card when she admittedly funded all sorts of extremist groups and the taliban when she was in office in the 90s...
she was a major funding source for the taliban when they were on the rise in southern afghanistan |

i will not believe that it was the islamic extremist who killed her. They say they didn't do it which would make no sense if they actually did because they are quick to take credit for their actual actions. This is the action of government or some other orginazation. It's quite comparable to the fbi blaming the murder of malcolm x on the Nation of Islam.

Unless of course..they.. do.. say..they..killed her.. http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-12/...ent_7328794.htm (Using a Chinese source since clearly Mandela believes any source based anywhere in the Western world is automatically wrong) http://www.lifeofguangzhou.com/node_10/nod...148632302.shtml |

(Vetamur;343900) And presumably Warrior6 you just wanted the Soviet occupation to continue? and presumably ud know that there was no soviet occupation after 1988 she ruled from 1988-1990 and 1993-1996 the pakistani military took pleasure in watching kabul burn to the ground in the civil war...they even sent ISI to smuggle arms to warlords and fight for the taliban. now the dogs they let loose are biting them in the ass. pakistan and afghanistan also have land disputes that have been put on hold because of afghanistan's problems NEXT ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK... Oh thats clever. You claim Al Qaeda didnt claim responsibility..and then when faced with the fact that they do, you simply choose to ignore it because the Bush admin claimed that Iraq had WMDs. Solid argument. W6.. sorry, I had the withdrawal date wrong, but nevertheless you are condemning with hindsight. With the Soviets withdrawn Afghanistan plunged into chaos, and many thought that the Taliban would be a stabilzing factor and that they would be more moderate once in power. Obviously they were wrong.. but there werent a lot of stellar options, were there? And very obviously she had long, long ago a) admitted her mistake and withdrawn any support of the Taliban.
