There is a house near me that is said to be haunted

The house is untouched from the victorian times and has a really eerie vibe about it. its a really interesting place. I would like to add that these pics where taken by us and have not been edited or doctored in anyway, straight from the camera to the pc

The house:

We entered through the back gate through the overgrown garden and into the back door. The downstairs is all boarded up so apart from what used to be the kitchen there wasn't much to see. In the kitchen there was a glass fronted cupboard with old tea cups and plates and the room had loads of old Kilner jars on the floor.

The front door from the inside

Front room:

Stair case:

we headed upstairs where it was a lot lighter. There were loads of old books but the place had pretty much been gutted. Most of the fireplaces had been ripped out (probally looted). There was one room in particular that was quite spooky.

My mrs went off with camera and took a shot, she came back white as a sheet and cold. She showed us the camera. The picture had 'orbs' in it, I said that it's probally just dust and to prove it went to take exactly the same shot.

My mrs picture

30 seconds later my picture:

No dust would clear that quickly

We are going back tomorrow, this time as a group I will be taking my video camera and my audio recording equipment. More people with more cameras should bring back something interesting

It still could be dust particles.
Nice old house with potential.
Keep taking photos and perhaps you will get something more.

Wow! That is awesomely cool.

Are you familiar with http://www.darkpassage.com?>

They're photographic artists who photograph abandoned places.

But have to say: your pics really make an impression!

I did not know that most people think a house has to be very old to be haunted. New homes can also be haunted. But most of the time , its the people that are haunted not the house. Oh I hope that is not the case in my home. My family already thinks I am goofy. lol

That does look like a pretty spooky house. It's a shame you couldn't really investigate the basement.. That's where I would have wanted to go! Anyway, here's a picture that shows the color meaning behind orbs. Next time you catch some pay attention to see if they have any sort of coloring in them.

Hey look at that the picture of the front room. Look at the top right corner. Do you not see a white blob? I think that's a little strange.

But great house! My mom is a ghost hunter, so I know wat i'm talkin' 'bout. Nice pictures, and those are orbs dude. That's not at all "dust particles". Those are freaking orbs ha ha ha.

Neat pix, interesting house. Do you know anything about its history? You can look up its current owner and ownership history by plot map or address at the county records archive. That is public information. How old are the books in the pix. That might give a clew as to how long abandoned.

Cool

I hate to be the one to debunk, especially stuff like this, but that's just dust. These "orbs" appear in quite a few other pictures you've posted, and you didn't notice them there before. I'd imagine you'd see the and take note of them in the pictures. REALY quite spooky pictures though..

I hate to be nitpicky ... it's probably just a misnomer: but when you say
QUOTE
The house is untouched from the victorian times

I just gotta reply. 'Victorian' is an adjective that refers to the late 19th century. Not only is this house FILLED with 20th century things, the architecture itself looks more 20th Century to me, though a little research shows that Victorian Architecture covers a lot of ground.

If indeed the house had been untouched since the 19th century, believe me, it would be in much sorrier shape.

Picture 1: Intact windows, latticework, gutters and rainspouts. It's got a lot of uncut brush and overgrowth, but the path to the door is still clear. My guess is that the property stopped being taken care of within the last 20 years, but that it hasn't been more than 5 since someone last needed to use the door. Just a guess.

Notice the second floor window on the farthest right. The lower pane has something in the branches of the tree.

Picture 2: Not sure what that is on the floor, there, but it's 20th century. I count at least seven orbs. They're mostly in the bottom half of the picture, straight forward of the camera and with light source from the back (upper window). My guess is dust kicked up with the photographer turned around to take a picture of the door.

Picture 3: Light fixture is 20th century, though the cover makes me think of a 1920s style. Clearly not that old as the cloth is still in good condition. The white blob on the wall is interesting. Window behind you? Bleaching the wallpaper? I count two orbs. Why so few? Carpet. My guess is dust reflected by the window behind you.

Picture 4 surprises me because there are so few orbs. We have dusty wooden stairs. My guess: no window nearby?

Picture 5: I count at least 4 large orbs. Forward light source for illumination. I'm guessing carpet? Light fixture looks early 20th century to me: the window frame may be very old. That's actually the first really Victorian looking thing I've seen is the windowframe.

Picture 6: Billions of orbs. Wooden floor. I'm guessing you used a flash? Dust.

Last pic: My guess is that you used the flash even though you have a clear forward light source, and the two opposing light sources canceled out the dust reflections.

This is just a guess though. I'm not an expert.
