So there's this religiously oriented conspiracy theory called NESARA. I recently watched a movie called Waiting for NESARA which is a documentary shot in the period shortly after the terrorists attacks on September 11th, 2001 and the start of the war in Iraq in 2003. The movie itself is shot entirely with a single handheld camera and consists mainly of interviews with members of a Utah-based group called the Open Mind Forum, and footage of their meetings. These are just ordinary, average people: parents, grandparents, married couples, folks with day jobs and mortagages. Most of them are excommunicated Mormons. This Nesara thing is huge, just google it.
They meet weekly in a Kentucky Fried Chicken, until the sewer backs up and the smell gets too bad. They're advocates of a bill called the National Economic Stabilization and Recovery Act (NESARA) which (as they understand it) is a bill that is part of God's plan for Earth, that would forgive all debt, abolish the IRS, get rid of the Federal Reserve, and create a new currency backed by precious metals. I myself think that if this Nesara stuff IS real, that Nesara is definately an evil plot, because our rights our given to us by God, NOT by any laws, bills, or acts, freedom isn't about waiting for some bill to be passed by Congress, or waiting for the government to enforce their version of freedom on the people, freedom is about your god given rights, not the government forcing some bill down our throats. However, the Nesara supporters think that the bill will be the saving grace to the world. How is this possible? Would God really set up a new economic system? God doesn't care about money. Money can't buy happiness. HELLO. Anyway, sorry for the rambling, these Nesara supporters believe that Clinton secretly passed NESARA in 1999, but the Supreme Court put the kibosh on releasing this fact to the public. When it goes into effect, all high level government officials are going to resign to make way for the new government, one allegedly led by the returned Jesus Christ, however many fundamentalists such as Sherry Shriner believe it will be the antichrist. Did I mention his name is Sananda, and that he's returning in a UFO with his allegedly benevolent extraterrestrial pals? Alan Greenspan was supposed to make this announcement on September 11th, 2001, but George W. Bush ordered an attack on the World Trade Center in order to invoke a state of emergency and stay in power. He started to war in Iraq to perpetuate this state of emergency. Bush doesn't want Jesus and his alien pals to take power and bring about financial properity on Earth because Bush, you see, is really a shapeshifting reptoid (Umm.......okay!) This Nesara thing is bizzare and creepy, and humerous all at the same time. You have the christians such as Sherry Shriner saying Nesara is the economic system of the Antichrist, buying orgone blasters and the liking, and then on the other hand, you have the Nesara supporters saying it's God's Plan. Really really...weird. There are updates every day on this website: www.galacticfriends.com (Every day they say the bill is about to be announced, and that First Contact is near, but nothing ever happens) Then you have Sherry's site: www.nesarasucks.com |

Star Hero;
I hadn't heard of Nesara before you mentioned it. The great thing about cults is that there always seems to be one more out there. Well, they could be excommunicated Mormons, although the dietary and hygiene laws of Mormonism probably doesn't include KFC grub in a shop that doesn't pass health inspection codes. I immediately thought that Church of Subgenius or their inbuilt spoof opposition parody cult the Discordians may have a hand in this one. They're always good for a laugh. That there may be apocalyptic splinter groups in Utah and pretty much everywhere these days is not so unusual. Sananda is followed by a number of different quasi-religious/UFO groups such as Antakarana and Jesus Sananda sects and the Tuella people. Many of these sects.groups borrow quite freely from each others material. However, now that you've mentioned Nesara, I shall no doubt Google, Yahoo and Wikipedia it for a while. Do they have anyrhing to do with the Genesis Sect, an obscure black Mormon church? Or are they the polygamist people? There are many people of the mind that some (at least) UFOs are interdimensional and not simply interstellar, intergalactic or interplanetary. Now with the recent discovery and likelihood of potentially thousands of Earth-size planets floating around the Kuiper Belt, within the outer reaches of this solar system, perhaps only 100 tp 1000 AUs (Astronomical Units) from Earth, the possibilities are endless. Apocalyptic groups are ubiquitous. I used to check them out just for fun and curiosity. Kind of a hobby when I got bored with going to the pub and to meet different and interesting people. The Christian UFO/Space Channeling lot were kinda fun when they channeled Sananda space fleet entities. Some are pretty hokey, some are wannabes, although I'm willing to concede that a small percentage of people may have some abilities and insights in this regard. |
