A first person shooter experiance unlike any other, played out in Rapture, an immense underwater utopia torn apart by a genetic civil war. Explore a deadly but incredible art deco world filled with formidable technology and fascinating characters. You'll have a complete arsenal at your disposal, from simple revolvers to rocket launchers and flamethrowers. Challenge the constraints of nature by genitcally modifying your DNA with injected PLASMIDS and embrace super human powers....... (BLURB)

This game has alot to think about and has many twists to the story being told. The Owner of Rapture, Andrew Ryan talks about Altruism and how it affects daily life.

Anyone have anything to say about Bioshock, Andrew Ryan's speeches or Altruism?

BioShocks story is good, and the gameplay is pretty intense. To top it off, it sports amazing graphics and physics.

100% recommend

Half life was good because anywhere you could see, you could go. I find that very frustrating with the COD series, everywhere you look there is great vantage points to shoot from, particularly in multiplayer, but because it is limited, hals the time the multi play ends up almost like quake. That is also why I liked the IGI series, graphics was humble but game play was awsome. If you tried to just ru and shoot quake style you always died, IGI you had to think your way through, limit ammunition, select optimum strategies. It was good.
Havn't had a look at Bioshock yet though.

Well, i haven't played Bioshock yet, due to finances, but based on the description in the first post it actually does sound a lot like it's predecessor System Shock 2, a game i grew up with back in the late 90's, but SS2 used implants to give you the same superhuman abilities, it's a great game and i heard Bioshock is a near complete remake of it, but i'm only speaking what i've heard, a he said, she said kind of thing.
