Hi, everyone. I'm new on the forums. I don't know whether its customary or lurk for a few months or not, but I'm brand spakin' new. I just had to see if I could find someone else out there to either give evidence to or debunk what I saw.
Location: Louisville, Ky. Gene Snyder freeway. Date and Time: January 27, 2007 @ 1:12 AM Description of Experience: I was driving home with a friend of mine after spending a few hours at another friend's new apartment. We took took the Gene Snyder freeway from Bardstown Road to the Jefferson Town/Taylorsville exit. When we were about 2 miles from our exit my attention fell on a bright, white light in the sky that hadn't been there previously. It was about the size of the nail on my pinky finger (i'm a girl, to give you a better idea) and was just a hazy white color. The closer we got to it, the more we started to think it was odd. It was hovering fairly low in the sky. We knew it was hovering because we had been watching it for two miles and had noticed how it stayed still the closer we got to it. At first we thought it was some sort of tower but I know that road well and there has never been a tire there. Didn't look like a search light. Also, when we got closer, we realized that it was more of a triangular shape than an orbital shape. There was a V on the bottom of it; two red lines of lights that pulsed on and off. It was still glowing very brilliantly the closer we drove to it. Well, we got off at our exit and actually PASSED where it was hovering and turned right down Taylorsville Road to go home. It never moved and we could see it glowing even when we got home, which was 10 minutes from the exit. We tried to debunk it and laugh it off as a "cool story" but it's really played on my mind. I know it wasn't a plane. Planes don't hover do they? It was WAY too large for a helicopter. What about the red lights? The triangle shape? Stealth bomber? Can anyone help me out? A Louisville resident or visitor that happened to see it as well? Even if you've seen something like this in a different area, please let me know. I would like to hear your story. I like to think I'm a skeptic. |

I like to think I'm a skeptic. Well, if you have honestly eliminated all conventional explanations then you are left with an unconventional one...UFO. Was there UFO reports in your local news or paper? Did you consider the planet Mars or Venus. These planets can be particularly bright at certain times of the year. I believe Mars is becoming brighter during this time of year. |

Thanks guys, I never even thought about the planets. I'm taking an astronomy class (in college) this semester so I can use the Starry Night program that we have to see if there was anything special going on with the planets that night. Great ideas!
Thanks for the link, Dax. If i can't find anything about the planets I will defiantly check that out. This forum is great; Different minds coming together to find the truth. |

Hi Killa...welcome to the forum...we have a few members here who live in or are from Kentucky..and there have been others that I can recall from the past. Kentucky has always been something of a hot spot for UFO sightings. A trait that I think can possibly be due to one or several factors. The rural, open hillsides of horse and tobacco fields may make UFOs easier to spot.
Additionally, military craft from Fort Knox, Fort Campbell and BG Army Depot may account for some sightings. Then there are planets and astronomical phenomena visible in the open, dark sky to contend with. Even so, Kentucky has a history of many unexplainable sightings. Interestingly, Kentucky, due to its rich history in the Civil War, Native America and folk settlements is also a paranormal hot spot. That being said...'will-o-wisps' (spirit lights) may also account for some UFO sightings. |
