I come back and now I'm hammered with ads. If I go up one more restriction settings, I'm blocking internet access all together. Why is the sites Admin doing this? Who is actually clicking on these annoying ads to help fund this site. If I had the money, I'de almost buy the domain name off of you and run it myself.

Can we please have the Old A-U back?

I have to seriouslly ask now. First off.. sorry if this comes off hostile. This site has been running for 5 or more years now? It used to be called something else. I remember I was a member on it and they either changed the domain name and pointed the old site to this page, or they shutdown and redesigned it and I ended up reregistering. My point is, I have been on here for at least 5 years even though it says 2004. This site was one of the best forums I have ever been on. Everyone was friendly. Now look at it. Why so much hostility on this site? And why the ads? I mean I have my setting set to the highest now and I still got a pop up which meant I had to set the popup blocker to its highest setting as well. So now It's asking me what species I am everytime I post?

What was the reason for doing this? I mean, I don't think it's my "Paranoia" that is questioning all of this. It almost seems like this is created to annoy everyone so they wont bother coming back. some kind of tactical move to make people stop logging in. Hey, I know "Its just the internet.. it's only the internet.. Internet is serious businesssss" and all but I spent 5 years of my life coming on here and listening to people have serious discussions about what the hell is going on in the world. So I do take it personally. I have seen people who were very deep into the subject turn 180 degrees and start mocking it. I've said it before and I'm saying it now. Is this really A-U or is someone redirecting my internet connections. Because it's clear we either have the element who likes to ridicule people to steer them away from finding answers or we have stalkers who like to follow me around and spread lies so people will stop believing in me.

I've logged onto forums before and once i used another internet access and found the forums and users did not match one another. this has lead me to believe that the Internet is being redirected to what i call a mirror site although I'm sure there is a more appropriate term used for it.

I haven't had a problem with ads on this website - unless you're referring to the "Are you human?" question that is followed by "Say hello." I guess the site owner is using those so spam bots can't get access to this website. It's kind of like the captcha thing on Myspace that is supposed to prevent spammers from being able to repeatedly post a lot of garbage.

All I get is a banner ad... not pop-ups or anything invasive like that yet... Then again I'm using Google toolbar to block pops.

I use Adblock Plus for Firefox and I just add the adverts, and all superfluous image files that only add to loading times, into the block list and they do not load on subsequent views of the page. I think regular users should be added to a list where they are not tested if they are indeed human.

For one, you can always ignore the ads. Two, don't you have a pop-up blocker??
