Hi, I've had an interest in UFOs and space in general ever since I could remember... I visited this site and forum frequently around a year ago and sort of wandered away from actively pursuing the topic. With the recent premiere of the History Channel's 'UFO Hunters' my interest has returned and as a result, so have I to these forums...

Anyway, back when I initially discovered this board I read an extremely interesting abduction case (abductions and alien contact in general are my favorite aspects of UFOlogy for obvious reasons) on the main site written by the abductee himself, John R. Renz. After reading it, I was stunned by how believable the man sounded and, if true, how fantastic his experience was. Something about flying a spacecraft with technology you were never meant to use, and witnessing creatures you were never meant to see... sparks overwhelming intrigue for me. It's obvious the typical skeptic would attack the man's inability to recall true events while (or if) being subjected to military authorized mind-altering experiments but in my opinion, that seems even more farfetched. Whatever this man went through, it seems, it wasn't planted in his head or accidentally put there. I don't get the feeling that this guy is a whacko like I might feel with say, the "Tall Whites" guy. He sounds sane, and sounds like he truly believes what he's saying. So what are your objective opinions/thoughts on this case?

Renz served in the USAF from 17 February 1971 until 20 September 1971, 7 months.

The link promoting Renz’z story states he is a Viet Nam Vet, yet later in Renz’s story, Renz says, “I was never in Vietnam.”

The story also says Renz was Honorably Discharged on 20 September 1971 under medical conditions from the U.S. Air Force. After only 7 months of service…

My guess is Renz was scheduled to deploy to Viet Nam and Renz freaked out.

Thirty years later Renz tried to get increased Veterans Benefits from the Veteran’s Administration (VA) and was turned down and 31 years after Renz’s discharge, Renz wrote a story hoping to garner support in his bid to receive increased VA benefits.

I do not find Renz’s story compelling in the least… ~rore
