Yes, this my last post, I’m leaving, and leaving for good! Why?

The reason is simple – I received disparaging, insultingly scathing and racist private messages in my inbox.

I might easily turn this matter to the moderators, but I’m not of the polemicist ilk, and so I prefer to go.

well....damn it...allison...dont deprive us of your company because of the stupidity of others...this has happened many times in the past and I do wish that the AU staff could root out the cowards..unfortunately, when it does occur, the member simply bows out and leaves...we've lost several good members this way and its a grave disservice to the rest of here at AU

:confused: I'm stunned.... This is terrible... Please tell us Mods via pm who was responsible and forward a copy and action will most definately be taken... Just remember that everything will be treated in the strictest of confidence and the name of the person need not be published etc if you chose to report this...

The pm system is not set up for such abuse and anyone using the pm system for such purposes as what you have received is againt the forum's policy... besides that, it also shows what a lowlife pathetic whimp such a person is by doing so and then hiding behind the private pm system... and truely... why the hell would any memeber want a person such as this posting here...

I'm disgusted and upset to hear this... Please don't go and empower that person by allowing them to get away with it... Obviously that person wants to push you out of the forum... and... They could easily keep doing this to others if they think they can get away with it...

If you go some of us will miss your song and poem of the day... you add a really nice peaceful element to the forum with the verses you chose...

i'm quite new here and found most people nice and helpful.everyone has their place and their view, but there is no place for those who participate in insults and intimidation.the culprit needs to be weeded out and reprimanded.the majority support you and do not wish you to leave as you controbute too.. much and theres enough vacum in space.

I know I rarely post around here anymore, but I've had similar experiences that have shook me.

I do stop by and read your poems and thoughts of the day and it would be a shame to see you go.

Please keep in touch with the mods if this keeps happening and they will help you out. You don't have to suffer alone and you have some good friends here who will support you.

Scum without intelligence who probably can't hold their own in a debate with a mature, intelligent woman such as allison and must resort to pathetic, underhanded tatics...well, there are ways of finding out who...

And, in case those doing it is unaware of it, its called 'harassing communications' and nearly every country provides legal remedies-both civil and criminal (yes it is a crime)-to the victim. The PM has been sent...the IP address is easily discerned (even with a proxy)...identifying information is provided when registering..physical location including name, address, etc is just a few keystrokes away...and considering that 'race' was included in the harassment...you just upped it to a HATE CRIME...for which there are severe repercussions...so not only are you a coward and low-life...you're also an idiot

You really should tell the Mods, if you don't, the rest of us will still have to live with the guy that sent you those messages.

The only reason any activity stays free of racist and hurtful people is because the people of that activity exercise control over others to the point that these racist and nutty people just can't get away with it.

Please take the time to report the sender.
