Location: Kokomo, IN, USA

Date: March 6, 2008

Time: between 7-8 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 3+

Number of objects: 2-5

Shape of objects: circular

Weather Conditions: Cold and cloudy

My girlfriend and I were on our way home from the mall a couple of nights ago. We were laughing and singing along with the radio. I looked up into the sky and I saw a strange orange light. I felt almost hypnotized by it, then it disappeared. Immediately I told myself that it was only a glare from a passing vehicle. As I was turning to ask my girlfriend if she saw anything. She was actually turning to ask me the same thing. so was a loud, simultaneous, "Did you see that!!?"
Now skeptical, but still thinking logical, I assumed it was a cloud passing over a bright star. Or even a planet. That's when I looked and about 3/4 mile northwest of the initial observation. I saw another one and then another right next to it. Each time one appeared... one disappeared in a timed sequence, and in a perfect, counter clockwise circular motion. Like a domino effect. Now intrigued, I frantically rolled down my window despite the cold winter air. Just when I thought it was gone another sequence would appear. Each time it appeared to multiply or pulsate, and always in a perfect sequence. There were never more than three lights in each one. I saw a total of three individual sequences on the way home, (like a 5 minute time period).
When we got back to the house my girlfriend was trying to convince me that it was probably a helicopter or something. It wasn’t.
So now we're standing in the driveway waiting on these things to show up again. It didn’t take long for them to appear. This time there are 2 sequences in the sky at once about a mile apart from each other, (she no longer thinks its a helicopter), and we can barely see super small twinkling lights in between each pulse. I also noticed that there were suddenly several of the small twinkling lights all over the western sky, moving in random directions. some fast some slow. some times disappearing/appearing. I noticed a low distant rumbling during the sequences. Like an engine, or explosion, or breaking barrier. Every dog in the neighborhood was barking. Just as fast as the show started, it ended.
I personally cant think of a logical explanation. Fireworks? In the winter, with no sound, and in 2 different parts of the western sky... doubt it. Maybe a flare? Why? and how so timed in 2 different areas? Could be a hoax... but someone would have to have a lot of time on there hands because I did some research on this today. I discovered several, damn near, to the "T", same observation as me. not only that, they were in different years and in different locations. Something else I noticed in my findings is these sightings almost always occur in the western sky.

Welcome to the forum drewsoph.

Have you considered the possibility that it could be military jets on maneuver?
Several jets flying in formation and the each turn on their afterburners in sequence. They would glow and quickly die out.
Jets have blinking lights and the rumbling would be their engines. They are able to pass the sound barrier, hence the boom.
The afterburner of a military jet has fooled me on occasions.

I did consider that. I could barely hear the rumbling though. The lights were'nt very high either.Them being as close as they were, I would think they would be loud. There was more than one sequence too. I live way in the country, no military bases close. It was too wierd to be military jets. They were very timed sequences. If there is a logical explanation though, this is the closest its come thus far. Would a jets after burner give off a domino effect? Why does this always seem to occur in the western sky or, from east to west?
Thank you for your reply. Please post again...

They may not be jets, it was only a thought.
I too live out in the country.
The closest military base here is Ft. McCoy. It is almost 200 miles away to my west. They fly over here and many times do their maneuvers and use their afterburners in formation.
Has there been other reports in your area? Anything in the papers?

yes... there has been like 5 other reports.Insanity.... I cant stop thinking about it. I have heard that sightings have been more frequent lately. I think there is ad deeper meaning to these things. I have experienced other things. Nothing this blatent though. Its almost like, how could it not be? I am literally fascinated now.

Well, then keep your eyes peeled and a camera handy, you may be the next to capture a spectacular photo for us to view.

I have been looking skyward here for years. I haven't seen anything conclusive in decades.

You really have to make sure that you rule out all possibilities before labelling anything a true UFO...not saying that you didn't see one I cannot comment on that as only you know w how it appeared..

I do believe that our technology now has the capabilities-in some cases to look spectacularly out of this world-so to speak.

In Australia we just bought 6 Stratospheres; for what reason I have no idea, but at the height they routinely fly and the unusual effects at that height do make hard to distinguish..There there are the black programs, craft not known to mankind in public, what better way to test them than at the highest heights.

If the camera is a fast shutter speed or you need a hd video...digital cameras cannot take a quick enough shot and are always too far away, A Slr or a HD , you cannot extract any detail before it pixelates. Maybe thats why the digital push where you cannot even trust what the cameras are taking..blemishes that look like craft-insects that look like high speed craft etc... 2010

I have a few photographs I have taken-8 from one day-3 from the day I bought my Nikon SLR and 12 from a friend who with hundreds of others photographed this huge whitish craft surrounded by what I see as 5 huge double rotor helicopters. I have one shot showing this light as well as the back lights of a car who stopped to look.

When I used my fractal program the helicopters came out very very weird, helicopter shapes that I had no idea Australia had..and to this day can still not find any helicopters like that in Australia's arsenal..have seen many UFOs and know the feeling of-"well how can I prove what I saw was anything", usually its because it appeared as something quite alien (no pun intended) to you.

If you see something that makes you look at it for more than the time it takes to identify a normal plane/jet etc,,,then it becomes intriguing and if it disappears just as fast leaves more Questions than answers, and will probably stay with you for a long time to come..

Take a small note pad with you all the time if you have no camera at least you can write down in DETAIL on the scene what you saw and then you wont have niggling thoughts of it and what it exactly looked like as memories can fade, the event stays but the minute details can be lost unless you have a god memory...Although things of this nature; either are rejected by you outright ,or stay forever clear as the day it happened..

Life is strange, the world is strange, the Universe is far stranger. I would not discount anything, as its all possible..and in most cases probable. Take care

Wow, I've never heard anyone else talk about the amber balls of light. I saw them as a child, though I remember it like it was a dream. Still, its a very distinct imprint on my consciousness. They were out there bouncing around and pulsating. My memory goes completely blank a few seconds later.

I have seen something like that.
I use to spend alot of time out doors and got use to seeing objects from satalites and space junk crashing to the earth. Still after all these years of looking up at the sky during the day or night I think the chances of seeing something unique are actually better than most imagine if you keep looking up so to speak .
