A cross between Independence day, war of the worlds 2004 and mars attacks (but in a serious sense)
I am finalizing the script to this. some may remember the first film i made that was only 5 minutes long with overdone credits (sorry about that.)If not then here is the youtube version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTbQox0LRuE

Well i did promise to make a bigger and better sequel and I think it may take a year to do. However I may need some help from you. Basically as it is a complete CGI film, that means I need voice talent for my characters. Would anyone be interested in reading from my script, recording it in Wav format and sending it back to me? Anyone who helps will be credited and you will get to see the film when it is completed. I estimate the script will be finished by the end of the week and i will be sending out the parts if people are still interested in doing the voices.

Some concept art of the Aliens

Not that I know what I am talking about, but I would lose the cape on the King. IMHO, it makes the king look cartoonish. He would look more regal and stronger with just the head dress.

Yes a good idea.

I would give your aliens some body worn technology. Not like predator exactly, but you could give them a belt that renders them somewhat protected, with a force field, or give them the ability to move through solid objects with a touch of a button on a belt.

Just an idea.

Arch.. Very cool. It must have taken months to assemble all of that. I was just messing with poser5 and I bought 3DS max7 myself but am demoing 9.

I'm not advanced but still trying to learn. Have you learned to model yet with any of the decent tutorials out there?

here is a website that i go to
http://www.maxforums.org/thread.aspx?tid=495830

he has some good video tutorials.

Modeling is really time consuming so I was thinking of using poser models as well but when I plan on doing is using MiMic for poser (A lip sync that creates mouth movement in poser by making pose files).

There is several ways you can do this. One is to obviouslly animate your characters in poser with a green background and chromakey them in vegas (Which is probably what you did)

another way i was going to try and animate to save time (but crude) is to map just a video of a talking mouth using mimic and poser and map it to a poser 3ds model in Max. that way you can rig the Poser model in max.

Of course the other way is to buy Poser7 Pro which will come with a max plugin that will import all animation sequences into max from poser. But I'de rather bone and rig the character in Max and key it in max.

A longer process would be to rig the head and hands seperatly to a biped in max and add the rest of the body to the same biped and use morphing.

Im not sure how you did it but I'm working on different ways. I want to shorten the time but get a better quality animation. When you key anything in poser it seems to move real slow and there is a lot of edge errors.

I have my own website www.video-fx-universe.com that has many max tutorials and lots of others. I also have a forum on there about film making and stuff on most programs. And if you are talking about the poser into max intergration program called poserfusion, then yes i have that. It makes work so much easier and quicker not to mention it renders faster. I even made a video tutorial on how to rig meshes using the biped and you would be surprised how easy it actually is

I used the live video footage from iron eagle 1 which i really did not want to do, but due to time constraints i had no time to model a f18 cockpit. I am now halfway through modelling my cockpit and it should be ready for animation very soon

poserfusion is what it's called now. Used to be called Body Studio. I'm not keeping up to date since I'm an older user of it. There was even a free plugin called Maximum Pose or a free version of it that imported 30k faces but no texture maps.

I'll check out your site. I was just curious why you used poser since you have some good skills in working with effects and all. I'm not putting you down or trying to school you. I just mess with the stuff myself. I was going to make a little animation and then maybe make a short after that and see if it can be entered in a film festival just for fun.

But there is so much damn work involved in doing this. I can see why you want people to help you out.

I use poser only when i need character animation or a type of person with clothes in a hurry, when i dont have time to model them in max. It can be very time consuming rigging a whole set of pedestrians that are used for medium background shots, when I can just do it with poser and import them into max. Poserfusion is the upgrade from bodystudio with all the bugs fixed. The short film 2008 a space odyssey I made only had 1 poser shot in it and that was the orion cockpit scene. The character for Dave in the space suit was modelled and animated soly in max
