I may be wrong here, but I got a gut feeling this disclosure will come to pass.

Ya, I agree. One way or another the truth will have to come out. From what I have seen when looking into different government stances on UFOs and aliens, I noticed there are a fair number that wish nothing more then to tell you the truth, but don't know themselves. I was reading about one government guy in Europe who wanted to get to the bottom of this just as much as any of us, not because of any personal reasons, but because people kept asking him saying that they trusted him to give them the truth and would believe what he said. So he felt it was his duty to not only give an honest answer, but to kind if there really are aliens.

Acceptance of aliens is rising, perhaps all the alien movies and stories are repeating the idea often enough to change what people are willing to believe. At some point people will gain the ability to get around organizations like NASA and the military and find out for themselves.

With people like that EU official, that believe that telling you the truth is important, this stance of denying aliens is going to lose ground as evidence clearly points to extraterrestrial activity just as it has for years. It is even inspiring to see that some people feel it is a duty to be able to give others the truth. I respect that.

I'd be very wary of anything Dr. Salla is involved with...

UFO Meeting Did NOT Take Place?

update - The sensational story that a meeting had taken place at the United Nations among the G8 countries concerning a possible change to a policy of disclosure in 2009 now may have been, according to the president of the French national UFO research organization, "a fiction."

The only identified source of this story, Gilles Lorant, presented himself as an official of the French Institute of National Higher Defense Studies. He has now admitted that he was not, in fact, associated with this organization. In addition, the French UFO research organization, the FEA, has been unable to confirm that he attended any meeting at the UN concerning UFOs. Therefore, Mr. Lorant has left the FEA, and the president of that organization, Michel Ribardiere, has issued a statement to the effect that the visit was probably "fiction." Michael Salla's report of the event also came from Gilles Lorant, and has no independent source. In France, such misrepresentations are illegal, and Michel Ribardiere has issued the following additional statement, "Considering the infiltration of many foreign UFO organizations by unscrupulous individuals, who have sometimes attempted to sabotage their operations, the F.E.A reserves the right to bring this whole affair before the courts."

Unknowncountry.com's position is this: until there is concrete evidence of the meeting provided by one of the alleged official participants, the assumption must be that it may never have happened. Certainly, we hope that it did happen, and it will lead in a good direction.

Strieber wrote a Journal piece on this last month. He's now included an update discounting it. I give him a kudos for leaving the piece up and keeping his readers informed (at least as this goes).

I posed the original thread post as a question because something did not sit well with me. Now, that feeling has grown considerably. My instincts generally serve me well. Lies are meant for only one thing...to cover-up one's actions or motives because those actions or motives are either unacceptable, dangerous or disruptive...so where there are lies...there is truth that one or more are desperate to conceal. The best question from this point is 'why' and 'what'.

You know, that is the most I would expect from someone on this subject. "In February, the British Ministry of Defense issued almost 500 pages of previously secret UFO documents that both showed that the ministry found many sightings credible and unexplained, and included a remarkable comment by an unnamed author: "The national security implications are considerable." - http://www.unknowncountry.com/journal/?id=277

It would be nice if we got a spaceship or some aliens bodies, however honesty is all I really expect form them. I really don't care right now what they do with the spaceships and alien bodies, just the truth for people that want to known, are aliens real? I don't imagine that "every person in government" is hiding something, so a statement like "sure looks real to us" is just fine with me.

I was wondering if the military had UFOs and was reverse engineering them, how would they get them out of the prototypes and in to a more useful. Even beter, how would they keep them secret? One of the best ways woudl be to disclose UFOs, if anyone saw a UFO they would then say, it's aliens....
