not if it was taken with a digital camera.you can do double exposure effects with film.you need a pc to add effects if its digital.it looks too surreal with the figure, holding healing hands over the head.

My guess is a cheap camera with a slow shutter speed taking a picture while someone was making a sudden movement (probably also taking a picture). I'll further guess that the person was moving suddenly to try to get out of the picture.

Notice how it's more solid in the middle, and more transparent on the edges? The person was either facing the camera and turned to the side (to walk out of the frame), or was turned to the side and then turned to face the camera.

Just a guess though.

Such photos need a professional to anaylize the picture and determine wether or not is is a fabrication or not.

not necessarily drifter, i can tell you first hand I could remake that picture in under 10 minutes with Photoshop cs2.

If you look at it for a second, it looks like a waiter holding a menu, simple as their in a restaurant, dude didnt want to be in the picture.

You miss my point.
As you say, you can make a similar photo...perhaps you can, but an photo expert will 99.9 percent of the time know that it was a fabrication.
This photo may not be a ghost photo and I am not convinced that it is, but an experts opinion would go a long way to help us decide better, would it not?

I think that's SD's point as well: a professional can go a long way.
