I've never been huge on the UFO chunk of these forums, I'm more on the conspiracy and crypto tip, but last night I had a weird ass drive home.

I was coming home from my girlfriends house last night, not too late, it was about 9:45pm (central) aside from the fog (we get fogged up every night in the summer) it was a pretty nice night, about 70 degrees, no real wind to speak of.

I was driving for about 10 minutes, out of a 15-20 minute drive, and as I was making my way down the last stretch before the area I live in, ahead of me thru the fog, I could see what looked an awful lot like the front end of a jeep, but full of lights (flood lights, fog lights, the whole ordeal) coming towards me, but elevated off the ground. (Couldnt see any body of whatever it was cuz of the fog, but the lights were visible from a pretty decent distance) There is a couple hills around there, i figured I was about to go up one since the object seemed to be above me, but I didnt go up a hill, as there isnt one there.

I watched it coming straight towards me, but raised for about a minute, right in tune with where the road is, (even the on-coming lane, to whatever it was's credit) fully expecting it to be a lifted truck of some sort, to explain the height. After not very long, couldnt have been more than a minute and a half, it went right OVER my car, with no sound, nothing, and the couple cars behind me, I noticed the car 2 back from me try to swerve.

Im completely stumped, anyone got an idea? The closest airport is O'Hare which is about 30 miles south, and I have no idea what in the world could explain that.

No Aircraft(even a Stealth)wouldn't be silent at that height.. the lights do sound like Aircrft landing lights but i doubt they were....

I saw something exactly like that once go over my car at night. It went left to right and the light was so bright beneath it that it lit up the interior of my car almost to daylight brightness. It was so fast I saw it for less than three seconds at less than 100 feet high.

Low, fast, and completly silent. Not even the swish of moving air from it.

It was a structured craft and that is all I can say.

Don't know what it was and I probobly never will.

give or take a couple feet, maybe 15, at most. Not very high at all, i really thought it was just a big ass truck from a distance that was in the other lane.

What speed, hmm, I was going 55 towards it, and it didnt seem to be going faster than I would expect a car to on that road, so ballpark 50-70mph, nothing too extreme.

Similar to what bart said, as it got closer the lights were extremely bright.

The one I saw never gave me the impression it was on the highway. It came from the woods to the left so fast I never saw it coming. And it was at least 100 ft up.

sounds a little bit like close encounters,i beleive they(ufo's) may use normal highways,in a similar way that our police helicopter sometimes uses roads to navigate by,mainly cos the ground officers cannot seee from the air.i fear that your experience is going to leave you and us scratching our heads for some time.

one possible theory,is a secret drone survielance vehicle as used by the military for recon.

me too, hahaha. there was woods to my right, and open field and a motorola building to my left, so it could have just as easily had no interest in the road, and THAT is what stumps the hell out of me, why bother with the damn road? I mean if I'm having an off night of driving, my cars still on the ground and I ignore the road!

The military says they have stopped the R&D on a stealth helicopter, I think that's bogus: Who wouldn't want that!? What a wonderful vehicle that would be to spy on your enemies! I tell you this because The craft has be reported (and sadly, no I have no sources) to make no noise whilst flying. It would have been called the Commanche and the video game "Command and Conquer: Generals" even has a model of it. I'm certian they wouldn't of stopped the R&D on this craft. This could be your culprit. I'd check what nearest Military Bases there are and then check the Air Traffic restrictions and what military testing zones would have covered that area. If these two things line up, I think you just had an encounter of the experiemental aircraft kind! Having said that, if neither of those two things coincide, then I'm glad you came to this site to share it with us.
