These aren't particuarly profound, but they did seem pretty eerie at the time.
Back in the summer of 2001, I dreramt that the singer/actress Aaliyah had died. No details in the dream were given, just a sense that she was dead. It didn't seem very odd then. I wasn't a fan of her's, but I know who she was; an attractive young lady with a promising career ahead of her. A few weeks after the dream I walked past a music store which had a poster of her on display. Most dreams don't stick in my memory for very long, but as soon as I saw the poster, I remembered this one. Fast forward a few more weeks and I hear in the news that she was on a plane that crashed in the Bahamas, and she didn't survive. The next one is even less profound, but more bizarre. It was around the same, maybe after 9/11; I'm not certain. I had a dream where I was inside a dark storeroom of a strange gourmet restaurant. In the room, there were large glass bottles containing penguins (yes, penguins) immersed in some sort of fluid; the penguins were pickled. Someone, or something, had given me instructions: that I was to bring the penguins back to life! How, I have no idea, and that's all I remember. A few days pass and I'm sitting at a sidewalk table outside of a coffeeshop. A guy walks past with a black T-shirt with the words "Absolut Linux". Above the caption, as you might guess, was a picture of a vodka bottle with Tux, the cartoon penguin mascot the the Linux operating system, stuck inside. I didn't recognize the fellow wearing it. But from his appearance (skinny, unkempt blonde hair, and glasses), he kinda looked like someone who uses Linux. I still don't know what to make of these experiences. Not all people who use Linux look like what you described. Some of them look "normal". Same with abductees. ;-) You seem to have no conscious control of it. That is normal. If you try really hard at predicting the future, it eludes you. If you try to ignore it, it hits you in the face like a wet towel. Notice that these dreams happen close to the events they precede? That is good. Most precognitions happen either years in advance and the dreamer forgets it, or they are too convoluted to understand at the time and they are dismissed. Predicting the future is hard. When we try it, we might influence the future to go somewhere else for a while. All we see, when we see the future is probabilities. Some are almost certain and others are hardly probable at all. The ones that don't come true get dismissed as "dreams". They have become just that. They can't happen anymore. The ones which come true can be frightening. ( Great distress and pain. ) I'm glad that yours weren't so frightening. The one with the singer didn't include the gory details. Just the notion that she was dead. The Linux one was fun. Enjoy them for what they are; glimpses of the future. ( Although they can be hard to figure out at the time. ) Try not to read too much into a dream. Some dreams are just your brain getting the day's events sorted or deciding on a course of action that is bothering you.
