I'm wanting to know if anyone (MUFON) has figured out how heavy a UFO is? There are a lot of reports of landings, I would think that MUFON would've figured out the weight of the UFOs by the impressions in the ground left by landing gear.

I'm mainly interested in the weight of a UFO that's 100ft wide. A "ball-park-figure" is fine.

Thanks.

As far as I know, the varying reports of UFO's being described as space crafts, are so different, that one can't even tell the true shape of them, let alone the weight of them. I am assuming that space ships are what you are talking about?

I feel that the size of the crafts in the "Must see" thread is somewhat the norm out there. I fail to see how this relates to anything though. tongue.gif What do you have in mind?

Yes, Space Ships/Flying Disks.

I have heard a few reports on guessed weights of it to 13 tonnes. This can't be correct. I tried looking through the MUFON website with no luck.

Has anyone a link as to where to find more info? I know there are?

My thinking is that if we can get an idea on the typical size/shape/weight/crew/colours of these things, it will help to figure out what is used to get them to fly.

The craft in those pictures look to be several hundred feet wide!

As I said earlier, allmost every UFO claimed to be extra terrestrial beings flying around, is different. I've seen UFO's flying besides a Concorde. The size of that bugger looked no more than a football. If that weighed 13 tons, I'd be surprised.

Dros, I've seen things just like that in front of my own eyes at short distance and in perfect visibility conditions.
Now, just for speculational purposes, what the hell was that?

The one thing common across these different UFO designs appears to be a very highly sophisticated optical camouflage. I've seen it with my own two eyes and I've heard people describe exactly the same thing. What I've miserably failed at is to find is a video displaying this. The closest thing I've encountered is the famous "FOX News" clip that was on about a month ago, still haven't come across that one.

I'd hardly think shining and blinking lights as sophisticated camoflage, Ree, but maybe that's just me?

Makes perfect sense for a UFO to blink lights since we do.

Think about it, Instead of using cuttlefish they just blink lights like a plane.

Don't you see, ben? The spohisticated camoflage are the blinking lights. Duh! biggrin.gif

If they wanted to immitate planes, they're not very good at it. Flying like crazy, they are.
I think he means that he saw a ship disappear, ben.

If you're referring to a previous statment made by me on the matter I'll just quote my self. "Also where the body of the craft should've been I only saw this high-frequency flickering, only describable as optical camouflage."

But fine, I'll go into detail.

As I said it was dawn, the part of the sky where I saw the craft was dark blue, the other side of the sky (if I turned around) hadn't quite cought up, so it was pretty bright over there.

At first I saw a dull light, about the strength of the stars that had just started appearing. That was what I was looking at, actually. It travelled horisontally across the sky, just appearing above the tree line, about a kilometer away. "Hmm, this could get interesting" I thought to my self, and contiued zipping my soda, as I am a pretty "who cares" kind of person. The light it self twinkled, just like the stars. But when I thought about it, wasn't that light a little too close to be affected by the atmosphere that much?

Back to the story. So it travelled across the sky, slowly, without sound, and there was no wind to speak of. And after a few seconds I thought "Hey, it's going in directly over town if it continues like this" and put away my soda as I got more interested. And then, after about 6-7 seconds it began to turn. It turned away from me, and eventuall ended up turning a more or less perfect 90 degree turn, but that's not what was interesting, I'll get to that one in a while.

While it turned another light appeared in the most wierd place, under and behind it. The light appeared approxemately when the crafts side was turned perfectly against me, in profile so to speak. The light faded in more as the craft turned, but never got to be as strong as the previous light. Also I can add that I see airplanes _all_ the time, there's no way these lights were strong enough to belong to one of those. They weren't attention drawing in any kind. And the wierd positioning (first one high up and to the right and the second one low and to the far left) didn't indicate they were attached to any normal looking aeroplane.

Now to the interesting part, the optic camouflage. As I mentioned it was dusk, and the sky was dark blue. About when the second light appeared you could get a grasp at how the craft was positioned and how large it was. After the second light had stopped fading in something grabbed my attention, something inbetween the lights. I didn't know what I was looking at at first but my eye had already cought it and now that was all I was looking at.

Flickering. "Popping". I don't know how to explain it, but what I saw between those two lights was something that tried so very hard at mimicing it's background. All I saw between those two lights was slight alterations of the background light, very very subtle changes of the dark blue that was the sky. But it wasn't something constant, it was clearly a highly sophisticated machine doing this as it flickered at a quite high freqency. One instant I remember very clearly I'll try to explain now. Let's call the area between the two lights "the ball". In this ball there were areas "popping", flickering, like mirrors... I don't know, appearing and disappearing extremely fast. It was like this machine didn't really work as well as it should without a certain amount of light to "feed" it, and what I saw what the actual inner parts of this machine.

This does indeed match different descriptions I've seen here and there, UFOs "dematerialising" and making the area of where the craft should be "garbled".

Now I fully understand...thank you Ree.....I just couldn't get my head round the idea of camouflage being so good that you could see it!!!

Could you make a drawing of it? First I thought it was a satelite, but if it changed direction, well I don't know. Don't some satelites have ajusting booster rockets? Remember that the earth spins incredibly fast, and anything in space shifting direction, would make it seem like it was really moving hastily.

Oh, hahaha! At first I didn't know why you were making all those question marks and started looking for spelling errors. Hehe, quite a hilarious situation that could only arise in a UFO forum.

Sorry? I put question marks at the end of questions, don't you? What's hilarious? My spelling? I have no idea of what you are talking about, Ree...

Added: 'Course! It was ben's post you meant... Right, never mind.
