Wednesday at dusk, I was taking a short walk around the property with my chichuahua cheeto. We were crossing a tiny stream when cheeto stopped and was staring in the bushes when an animal I have never seen ran across the path. Let me see if I can describe it. It was rusty color with black and white on it. It was the size of a st. bernard but it had long ears and I mean long ears, and a tail kinda like a deer. I got enough look to know I have never seen any animal like it before. Do ya'll think it could be a cross breed of maybe a dog and another kind of animal? I have tried to find it again but I havent seen it. I even got my husband to go with me with his gun in case it attacked . That was the oddest looking animla I have ever seen and I have seen alot of animals on this river bank. Any ideas?

It is a pity you didn't have a camera with you cricket. It may have been something new, or previously undiscovered?

When I first read this post, I had an image of an animal in my mind that fitted the description almost perfectly I just couldn't remember the name of it. Then today I read this article:

African opaki

Then I remembered this post, but what Cricket saw couldn't be one of these, could it?

An okapi at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Cheeto, the Chihuahua? laugh2.gif

It just so happens my wife has a Chihuahua as well.
She calls it Taco.

The wife also claimed to have seen a weird animal in our woods. I brushed it off to her imagination.

Could it be them Chihuahuas? ugh.gif ugh.gif

Maybe they eat chihuahuas. It's funny. My best friend used to have a chihuahua named Tito (teeto)
