I have always heard some people say normal people wouldn't be mentally equipped to have contact with ETs that either we would freak out or just mentally break down. obviously governments have had contact with the beings themselves and some how managed to handle it, but when the day comes that the rest of humanity has regular contact ETs what then? how could we prepare mentally for this contact?

We wait. That's how we prepare.

I guess when the time comes we will know its here and the fact that its here will make reality set in?

I don't suppose for one minute that Man-kind will be phased in any way. I think we've all become accustomed to the possibility of non-terrestrial Races thanks to Hollywood and Television. We've " seen " Aliens from the handsome to the horrendous appear on our screens. We'd probably look upon it as an excuse to " get pissed ".

You got that right, pissed at our governments for not telling us sooner.

Yea thats what i have always told myself i seen aliens in movies all my life i have always been a huge fan of Sci-Fi, but sometimes when i look at the alleged sketches of them and these fake autopsy's and stuff i still get this weird sense of nervousness, its weird i cant really explain it thats what got me thinking is humanity prepared or ready for contact.

On the last post, Stormy, I agree. However, the feeling went away recently. I think that it's just because in movies, they present it with the idea that "Hey, it's fake, no biggie," but when you see the alleged stuff, it's supposed to be real according to the guy that has it and showed it to people, and you think "Gee, if that's real... If that's a real alien being cut into and autopsied, that is, why are they showing it on the internet?"

I don't think any of the alleged autopsy stuff is real though. If it was, the government would be all over it and dismissing it if they were hiding it (Which I kind of don't think they are doing as much of, but slightly).

What I think is this: The government isn't giving out all the information we think it has, because it doesn't know all that stuff. It doesn't understand any of it; and, more so, I don't think the government has made contact.

Contact might not happen in any of our life times. I think that it'll happen through some form of interstellar war that'll be started by us going to them, or them coming to us; either way for conquest though.

How do we prepare though? Simple. We don't.

It's IMPOSSIBLE to prepare for it. That's like preparing for a terrorist to randomly attack your house. It might happen, but if it does you probably won't know how it'll happen so you'll have wasted time preparing.

You can only prepare for the possible,not the impossible.I don't think we make contact with any other race,i feel any intelligent species would avoid us like the plague.
