More likely that the equipment may have malfunctioned, and the camera in the Gym recorded a bug passing to close to the lens. Motion sensors do fail.
I wonder if she is still having these problems or if they resolved themselves on their own. She did say it was a new buisness venture, so I would have to guess that something was installed wrong. Or the motion sensor was bad to begin with.

Usually when motion sensors fail, they quit completely.
New sensors either work or don't work.
Old sensors tend to get less and less sensitive.

I cannot provide a strong interjection furthering the subject of motion sensors because, 1.) I'm qualified only to theorize probable scenarios, since I am not an expert in the field of modern motion sensory devices 2.) I am not so blunt to believe any report of suspected paranormal activity, attributed to motion sensor triggers, especially those events "caught" on camera, without a case first being made, based upon extensive research by qualified professionals.

This is really going nowhere without further evidence. And I wouldn't bank much more coming out of this one. Thanks for the thread though.

I am not saying what it is or is not, but I do know about motion sensors. I work on them almost every day. We have a variety where I work.

Do you think it's genuine?

I think the video is genuine.
Insufficiant data to say for sure what it is.
All I will say is that a light will not activate them unless you focus them right into their recievers. And it is very unlikely an insect will either.
Could be somebody playing with a laser pointer, pointing it at the reciever...maybe. We should of seen red though.
