macdaddy....somethings just aren't as news worthy.....it would be impossible to put every protest on the news...... blink.gif ......I didn't see the large "stop global warming" protest that was taking place in a -5f snow storm in the news either.... dry.gif......that would have been a propaganda coup had they aired that.

that doesn't hold water for me man.

we are talking about the #1 news item, the finicial crisis. it has been all over the news... and a massive protest of the bail-out doesn't seem news worthy? with as much coverage as the bail-out received they just happen to find this "little" tid-bit unworthy. i don't buy it. and for anyone that does, i have some swamp in FLA i'd like to sell.

its called supression. it is a media "black-out", the control of information.

they can over look somethng as important as this but still make sure that we know who palin's daughter's baby's-daddy is...

what a crock.

hearing about it and being informed about it are miles apart. local news is going to show you pictures of whats going on at the new neighborhood coffee shop before they show you anything actually news worthy. (unless its a homicide or the weather.)

a free press is essential to a free society. not worthy?

i vehemently disagree Castle. i say it is worthy of national and world news. this happened in NYC not bumble-fuck mississippi. people from around the world are suprised that they haven't seen anything about either. its not that they were protesting, or even what the protest was about, its about the media being clammed up.

no it can't be covered up totally, because there are still a few people with backbone left in this nation. but it can be supressed which is exactly what is going on.

it was supressed to prevent upheaval.

i don't see how people can be so blase' about it.

there hasn't been much in the news of the war lately. that too is unworthy of notice i suppose... dry.gif

aba.....its not a media blackout.....as I said I heard about it.....your disagreement is noted......the news is there if you want to read about it..(the wars, protests and alot of other things)...remember there are more sources than the TV.

There are always going to be blase people, so make sure you get them to pay attention if you can.....but just so you know I'm not one of them.... wavey.gif

Its quite obvious that is not just horses that wear blinkers. Some folk believe everything the governemnt tell them, the same government which is shafting you and us left right and centre.

The government create a crisis, when they are losing thier grip on power, they then introduce new powers or dilema's to give the impression they are the only ones who can save and protect you.

like keeping a wolf to protect your kids...it will, but you have to be sure to keep it happy or it will eat them.that in my analogy of today's government system.

macdaddy....I agree there are those folks that believe everything that they hear....there are people with blinders....(blinkers)...on everywhere you go......you are familiar with the saying "ignorance is bliss"...I assume?

Yes I am CB..how true that saying is.But what happens when that bliss wears off or the ability to be ignorant is taken away. Can some of us be eternally ignorant?..i suppose, if its not me and you suffering then we don't acknowlegde that it happens,we stay in our comfort zone. Its this comfort zone that some of us in the western world can afford, that keeps the business men in power to a greater extent. We do have our benefits, with our governments, but they are usually at the expense of what i call "The Masses".

As current events illustrate with the economic crisis. Not only are we paying higher fuel and food bills,we are now gonna have to pay more stealth tax,to fill the gov's kitty back up.Wages are not increasing either.

================

Aba, your link says there were hundreds, not thousands, of protesters.

I actually saw/heard an interview of one of the ‘well heeled’ protesters on c-span.
What did he have to say?

The little friggin’ 30-something yuppie was complaining about how the Fed, at the time, were not considering bailing out the smaller banks who had found themselves caught up in the sub-prime fiasco… He was crying about how some bankers may lose their jobs! Wahhh ~rore

macdaddy.....I agree that bliss doesn't always wear off......I am sure you agree that believing completely in the US Government or the Parliment qualifies as "ignorance is bliss"......but in doing so you have to agree that disbelieving completely in the US Government or the Parliment is the same "ignorance is bliss".....agreed?

I do not think either of us fit that category.
