Old T.B. and mental hospital. Includes cemetery and body slide. Several cold spots and a young girl has been spotted on several floors but mostly in the basement and on the 3rd floor. Sightings of a young boy with dark hair in old fashion clothing and a hat, by main entrance (golf course) but watch out if you see him. He will come up to you wanting to home with you. Local rumors are that he was a victim of the Doctor who preformed illegal experiments on his patients. There is a body chute that is said to be haunted. The chute was used to transport the dead bodies of TB patients who died so that the other patients wouldn't see them carting all the dead bodies out of the hospital. Many strange figures and noises can be heard. Over all feeling of dread in the entire building.

Here are some pictures I found on the internet.

Waverly Hills Manor in Louisville, KY.

This is a picture of Mary Lee she was a former patient and died at Waverly Hills Manor.

Tom Schwartz worked security at Waverly Hills Manor and he built a little memorial in one of the rooms for Mary Lee.

Waverly Hill Sanatorium/ T.B. Hospital . Estimates that 70,000 people died in this hospital. After the T.B. hospital shut its doors it became a nursing home. It closed it's door due to allegations of neglect.

I'm told you can take tours of this place, so how do you know if it is fake or real?

I am planning a trip to waverly in a few months. However, where they give tours I am not sure how to go about getting EVPs and good pictures. Does it matter that they give tours? I know this was on World's Scariest Places, and they said it had everything. Did anyone watch this? I am not getting much feedback and I feel I am talking to myself...lol. Please let me know if this would be worth the trip.
Thanks Paula

Hey Paula,

I wish I lived near you, I'd surely come along, sounds like a lot of scary fun. I think I saw the episode of 'World's scariest places' that you're talking about. The group went in to check the place out with a film crew tagging along and it looked pretty freaky (they were filming using infra-red). I remember they all went into the morgue and that's when everyone panicked and ran out of the place. Apparently one of the guys saw a leg lying in the morgue and then it moved and they all freaked. They aren't sure if it was attached to a body or not. I suspect it was someone sleeping in there (the world is full of strange people).

Apparently some people were murdered thereabouts and bits of their bodies were found buried around the grounds. They suspect that one of the inmates from the asylum commited the murders but they have never been caught. They said on the show that this person may be living and hiding in the old hospital. I don't know how true this is, you'd think that if a number of people were murdered that the police would pull out all stops to find and apprahend the guy, wouldn't you?

If you go there make sure that you take care, and a big stick or can of mace or something. :bazooka: :knight: :chainsaw: :lightsabr

LOL, hopefully you'll be with a group that isn't easily spooked. There's nothing worse than having one person freak out and infect everyone else with their panic.

Scary story :ghost: Someone should bring a video camera into Waverly hills Manor and see if they can video tape a ghost or catch the sounds of the ghosts on video.

Paula...several legit investigations have been performed on Waverly, in one that I know of a photographer was attacked by an unseen entity...on another occassion a grounds security officer abandoned his post after being frightened by a spectral hearse and morgue attendant...it is definately worth the trip

Another place that you might try is the camp grounds at Boonesborough State Park in Madison County. Many years ago the it was a civil war burying ground, when the road and enterance going into the park was built, the headstones were removed but not the bodies...it is reputed to be haunted.

Also, at Jailor's Inn, a B&B located in Bardstown (I think) was an old county jail that is also haunted...for a good scare you can rent a room there for the night...the owners dont mind if you conduct an investigation...the Inn was featured on Travel Channel's Haunted America...

Hmmm...and there's the Colgate Factory in Louisville...very haunted....the employees refuse to work in the lower levels and all employees get a 'bonus' for working the graveyard shift...check it out while your in Louisville if you got the time...
