So I was looking out my window half an hour ago. I saw this light hovering in the sky above a building. It was blinking very fast. I thought nothing of it. 10 minutes later, I looked out the window again, because I was expecting someone, and saw the same light, still blinking, still in the same spot. I'm very sure it wasn't from any towers, as we have none in my area visible from my house. I went and grabbed my mom's digital camera, and put it on the video feature to try and tape the object so I could show you all. I ran out to the corner where it wouldn't look like I was doing something shady, and had a great view of it as well. I turned on the recorder, and the damn light wasn't visible! Either the camera's crap, or this thing had some weird type of sheild so I couldn't record it. It was stationary, and blinking pretty fast. I don't know if it was a star, wince it looked too close and big to be one. Now, I heard helecopters flying around the area. Does anyone know what this thing could be? It couldn't have been a plane, since it stayed in one spot for over 10 minutes. It couldn't have been a helecopter, as the light wasn't big enough to be from one, plus I would have heard the sound. The copters I heard later didn't start until I was in the house typing this message. It definitely couldn't have been a hot-air balloon, since we don't have any balloon areas around here. There is an airport about 5 or 6 miles from here, but the light in the opposite direction of the airport. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could've been? God, I hope it's nothing simple, and I'm over-reacting, which is probably right. Ariane, you're good at finding trtuh. Perhaps you could tell me what it was?

EDIT: I just looked out to see if it was still there, and there were two this time in two different areas. I took a photo of one, but I apparently turned the camera away too soon, and caught a blur of my wall. Then, 5 seconds after I took the photo, one light literally did a side wipe, and vanished. For those who don't know what that is, a perfect example would be when you wipe a dry erase marker board with a sponge, and the writing usually dissapears with one quick wipe to a direction. Anyway, I looked at the other light, and as soon as I did, it did the same thing. What the fuck am I seeing?

I can't claim the credit for this because some members have been using it for years (And I only found out last week) but if it's in the sky and it aint a plane or a helicopter or anything like that then you'll be able to tell by registering with these people....
http://www.heavens-above.com/main.asp?Sess...eldiglhnahicdjc

Put your location in and EVERYTHING (I think) that's up there will be plotted for you in relation to where you live (I don't know if it can be done a day after the event???).

I think I figured it out. I put in everything, and the only thing I could've mistaken it for was Saturn, although there were two things, and stars don't do what I said.

Okay but that's a wonderfully systematic way to go about it...now you can repel anyone who says otherwise. You already checked it out and you know it wasn't Saturn no one can argue against you. You're in the driving seat now.

I admit that I think the helecopters were a coincidence, as every night my area is patrolled by police choppers looking for trouble. The lights are still weirding me out.

God Angry I don't wanna sound like a 'debunker' coz there could be any number of reasons why I am wrong but, but, but, I've always wondered why if something is of extraterrestial origin it needs lights??? The technology required to get here would surely negate the need for any kind of 'lighting' system. I'm pretty sure if they needed to look closer at something then infra-red and the such like would do just fine...but I really don't know.

True, true. I'm not exactly saying I'm sure it was an alien craft, as there has to be other explanations open. I just think it could have been an alien craft, seeing as what is did. But as my mother said, why would they be over a city and risk getting seen? Although most of the people here in Philly are too damn close-minded to think it was extraterrestrial in origin.

I should describe the lights a bit better. They were blinking very very fast from red to blue. In fact, so fast I could see both at one time, but still know they were blinking. It still could've been a police copter, I imagine, but why would it have done that thing it did when it disappeared?

Yeah that was an interesting point...unless...imagine a 'rotating' light doing it's last turn? Would that create the effect?? Or even a wisp of cloud moving slowly across it??? I really dunno...I'm flummoxed

A J : Im in NO POSITION to even speculate as if you say what you see I take it as that...What you want to know "what it was"..

Ben as regards lights and alien having no need for them I have read (doesnt mean its in anyway right) that what we think a "light" is part of their propultion system that manifests itself as light when throttled up....sure its hardly stealthy(but maybe its like OUR exaust fumes we leave from cars) but who believes witnesses anyway thesedays. Talking of stealth, plenty of times in South America "crafts" have been see just sitting there like transfixed ducks and people snap away quite happy AND I also think its pheasable that blurred photo can be attributed to air interfearance if the "craft" produces gravity effects.....not everyone can be crap with a camera can they.

I would have guessed it was a heli. I had a similar event with one. If they are far enough you do not hear them especially if you live in an area where there are many other sounds around... Well that would have been my best guess. That the cam does not work is no real surprise as usually digital cams are very bad at recording night scenes... (that is what those 'amazing' UFO scenes come from in recent time I guess...). If you take a cam make sure you disable the flash for single shots and you set it to highest resolution... still it will be pretty hard to catch such a single point light... Well actually I showed the pictures of the helicopter already somewhere here... the guy I presented them to said I faked them... rolleyes.gif... well... smile.gif

It sounds very possible, but there were two of them in two different areas. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow when it is light out and mark off the areas I saw them in. Also, it confuses me, since they were in the same exact spots for like 20 minutes. Huh.

Okay. I took a picture of the sky just a few minutes ago in the daylight to show you where I saw the objects. The areas are circled in pink.

AJ: Why dont you try and find on Ebay say a good SLR camera. You have to spend tons of cash to get good low light capability with digital because you are dealing with small CCDs/inferior lenses/small lenses/ever seeking auto focus/inapropriate shutter responce..ect.

Because everyone is jumping on the digital bandwagon a good slr is very very hard to match digitally and only if you cane your wallet.
