Does anyone have any information regarding the infrared video that the Mexican Air Force released regarding a ufo sighting on March 5 2004? It is claimed that the military plane was surrounded at one point by lights, but could only see the objects on the radar, not with the naked eye.

Here is the article relating to this:

It would be interesting to see that footage.

Here's a link to an analysis done by Dr. Bruce Maccabee:

It's a Word doc. You'll have to download it to read it.

Here is another link to a Mexican website that insists the UFOs were heat signatures from off-shore oil drilling sites:

http://www.alcione.org

If you click on a couple of the links on the site, you will find an English-language version.

Personally, I think this guy presents a pretty solid argument. The Mexican Air Force would only need to recreate the flight to see if he's right or wrong but, for whatever reason, they have declined to do this (I think out of embarrassment).

Hey thanks for that link "S" wink.gif. I recorded the video off of a local news channel when it first hit the press. I will take some stills from the video and post them. There are a couple of interesting moments that I noticed that seemed unusual for reasons I don't think have been discussed.

I've heard stories about pilots that have seen UFOs but there is no evidence of the UFOs actually existing. But now this is good evidence. And saying that they were heat signatures from off-shore oil drilling sites makes me laugh. I didn't know oil drilling sites darted around and move in formation, but that might just be me.

(I watch)
It would be interesting to see that footage.

Here are a few stills

I noticed in this image what appear to be reflections under the brighter objects. Since this camera only picked up heat signatures, this shouldn't be misinterpreted as "light" reflecting off the ground from an oil well flame (or should it?)

The heat signature seems to appear in front of the cloud cover in this image.

Unfortunately, whenever you see groupings of objects in these segments, you never see them "break" formation. That would have been helpful.

Enjoy....

Many of the drilling rigs have flames on top of them to burn off excess natural gas so having them show up on infrared is not so laughable. As noted, all the Mexican Air Force would have to do is recreate the flight. If the well fires were responsible, they would show up again. If not, then we've got video of something else entirely.

Actually, I think that the Mexicans have already done this. But after going so far out on a limb saying they had honest-to-goodness UFO video, they would be VERY embarrassed to have to come back and say their crack Air Force pilots misidentified offshore oil rigs. As a result, they are keeping quiet and hoping the general public will forget about it.

the objects in that video are not moving, the clouds are moving, cover the clouds with paper and you will see that the flames never move!!

this video can be matched up with existing sites and the pattern of the flames match.

there are a few bands to infrared and heat is infrared waves. for these to only be visible in infrared means that only this wavelength could get through the air to the camera.

so if they were infrared waves this indicates the objects were hotter than the surrounding area and with a uniform heat.

if they were ufo's and were using some invisibility method, surely this would affect all wavelenthgs as our visible spectrum is small compared to the the infrared spectrum.

if they were ufo's then why only bother cloaking the visible spectrum, would be safer to do as much of the spectrum as possible to obviously avoid being captured with the infrared spectrum.

i read a paper sometime back that stated scientist had found a way to capture what they thought were ufo's using a new chemical camera, wheras infra red cameras failed to pick up the ufo.

also, what are the chances of a ufo having uniform temperature?

i bet the only reason the military allowed this to be aired is that it was never thought to have been ufos in the first place.
