I have not really had an interest in this part of the forum but i have had a strange exsperience of my own know.
It happened very early this morning before sunrise it was about 4:45am and i awoke to hear a strange banging and as i looked towards the door i saw the the door (which was closed) was moving back and forth it was like someone was pulling my door back and forth.I got up from my bed and i said "is anyone there" i thought it may have been my mam or dad trying to get in. But i got no response i went towards my door it was still shaking and opened it and nobody was and the door had stopped shaking. I looked down the hallway nobody there i stepped out the hallway looked in the kitchen and other rooms of my house nobodywas up. I went in my parents bedroom and they were sound asleep. So i just went back to my bedroomand watched the T.V i did'nt close my door though.
It was just such a strange exsperience and i definately was'nt dreaming. Am i imagining things.

Sam...I had a similar experience in a haunted house that I was living in...in fact, it was the first experience, after many subtle ones, where I could definitively say that the house was haunted...I only lasted 6 months in this house before the activity had escalated to the point of literally fleeing the home...the incident was also witnessed by my twenty year old nephew who was helping refurbished my basement..it was late in the evening and we were taking a break in the living room...quite suddenly my front door began to shake violently (the door was locked)...I looked out the window and saw no one...the shaking stopped and I opened the door and looked outside...no one was there...but this to be expected as the door seemed to have been shook from the inside...from that night, the haunting escalated even to the point of physical attacks on my room mate and my child seeing frightening apparitions

Don't let it get to you Sam. It might give you a scare at the time, but nothing happened to you then and nothing will happen to you again. Don't let it get to you.

See you in the morning mate!

Strange, I'm am sure you were not imagining it though.
If you were, you would know.

If it comes back just don't get scared by it, go forward and pull the door out of its control, what ever it is.
It can't hurt you biggrin.gif

Sorry for bringing this thread back up, I know its old. But I cant let this one go, I wanna help sam out here...

Sam, sinse this last post of yours, does it keep doing it? Has anything else besides the door shaking happened? If so, what? Do you know the history of the house you live in? Or is there any way you can find out the history of your house?

If it does it again,
While its doing it,
Dont be afraid,
Walk up to the door, hold the handle and say, "Please stop doing this, it is frightening my family and I, please dont do it anymore." Then hold the door open for a minute, then close it.
You or your dad do it, or whoever else its done it to smile.gif

Has anyone considered the possibility of it being a draft?

I have a bathroom door which does that sometimes though not all the time... You don't know there is a draft at times even if the window is shut coz most houses have enough gaps in them to allow for draughts and many windows are not 100% draft free...

The door can move to and fro and rattles and after a while it can drive me nuts if it keeps going.... It doesn't always do that and can go weeks on end and never rattle at all... happens because the door is a bit loose and remember too, wood and metal can shrink with the cold and expand when it's warmer... So how much it rattles when there is a draft all depends on the temperature and if the door is looser or tighter in the doorway and if there is even a slight breeze or wind outside....

We have been having incidents of power going off and sudden increses of volume from my radio and CD players i think something spiritual is in the house because these power incidents can't just be power cuts. I will try and look up the house history its really weird when the power suddenly turns off. The doors have been still there have been no more incident of that since my last post in this topic. Thanks for showing interest.

Sam.

The house is old but we only just put new windows in. But i had the window open a few nights ago and the door did not start going mad shaking then. Have to do a bit of investigating to see if there is a draft. Thanks for showing interest.

It's just a practical suggestion KelliAli... I don't really know in the case of Sam's door what it was...

But I always reckon first look at what could happen logically... By trying to look at as many possible logical explanations a person can find, it eliminates the obvious and if nothing seems to fit then maybe you may be dealing with something odd... Even then it could be something logical..... Houses creak and make all sorts of noises just by the sheer nature of what they are built with. They shrink and expand with temperature changes and as they age too....

The peers and or foundations a house is built on can move out of place slightly which can displace doors and windows even a fraction... A crack in a wall means something has shifted and you can hear a new sound one night or have a window swing open and yet never again have that happen because the house has slightly moved again... Movements so slight that they aren't noticeable... Tall building are mostly designed and built to sway because if they are too rigid when a strong wind hits them they can snap just like a tree that won't sway...

Maybe the door is standing still and it's the house that's shaking then? LOL I honestly think there will be a rational explanation.

Yes Ben, it probably will come out as a rational explanation, but, you never know, theres a chance that it could be something other than a draft. Sam says theres other weird occurences in his house now. Its always a good thing to check out the history of your house to see if anyone has died there and their cause of death. Sometimes it gives you a better understanding as of why these spirits are doing such things. Sometimes not.

I hope there is a rational explaination its so weird. Well my dog is burried in the back garden could that have something to do with it. But i do think there is a logical explanation to these strange occurances.

Could be  smile.gif
