Source: http://www.malepregnancy.com/science/
In the years since the first "test tube baby" was born in 1978, physicians and scientists from RYT Hospital have been working to develop a viable technique for the successful impregnation of male individuals. Illustrated to the right is a recent radiographic image of Mr. Lee, the first human subject to attempt this procedure, which shows the healthy fetus developing in his abdominal cavity. Please note that RYT Hospital is not accepting new patients for this procedure. Male pregnancy is still in its experimental stage and will not be available to the public in the immediate future. In vitro fertilization (IVF) techniques were used to induce an ectopic pregnancy by implanting an embryo and placenta into the abdominal cavity, just under the peritoneum (the surrounding lining). What does everybody think about this? PS: Could a mod kindly fix up spelling error in thread title, thank you. (oops) |

I dont know. I'm all for gays and all, but this seems a little weird. I guess if it works out....I dont know. If it's true that the greys have lost their reproductive organs, maybe this is how it starts.... just a radical theory...not mine.

That's both weird and cool...and a little scary, as well.
I'm not understanding what the placenta attached to, to supply oxygen and nutrients? The uterus is specialized for this...how would that work in a man? |

this is where i put my foot down! no no no, being selfish here, giving birth is suppose to be a miracle and a womans right. how dare they tinker with life in just a way!man was not meant to give birth, he was meant to start the process out of love , and now look, open a jar and out pops a baby. at this moment i am ashamed . this makes me so mad i cant even get my thoughts together.

If some men would like to be pregnant and this is made possible, I see no problem with that.
(cricket) this is where i put my foot down! no no no, being selfish here, giving birth is suppose to be a miracle and a womans right.
What is the miracle, Cricket? That the baby comes out of the mother, and only a mother... or the beginning of a new life? It's no more a woman's right to give new life than a man's. (cricket) how dare they tinker with life in just a way!man was not meant to give birth, he was meant to start the process out of love , and now look, open a jar and out pops a baby.
So a baby born from a man could not be born out of love? (cricket) at this moment i am ashamed . this makes me so mad i cant even get my thoughts together.
So long as no one gets hurt, and some are made happier... what's there to be ashamed of or mad about? |

was not the way it was meant to be
why do we humans always have to tinker with life?and if it were meant for males to give birth they would have been given the parts necessary to do so. i am sorry, but i am old fashion in this, and dont believe it should be tinkered with. my personal opinion. and yes, any birth being human, alien , or any form of life is always a miracle. -------------------- Whoever said anything was possible, obviouly never tried slamming a revolving door.

(cricket) was not the way it was meant to be
So? (cricket) why do we humans always have to tinker with life?
A life. Not life itself in this case. No one is affected but the man who wishes to go through with this. (cricket) and if it were meant for males to give birth they would have been given the parts necessary to do so.
Sometimes they are, Cricket. http://www.seahorses.de/seahorses.htm Scroll down to 'mating'. So males in general are not naturally 'forbidden' to give birth. If you then wish to say 'but we are not seahorses', then don't take a car to work tomorrow morning. Because we were not meant to drive. Or to take a boat... or plane... (cricket) i am sorry, but i am old fashion in this, and dont believe it should be tinkered with. my personal opinion.
Sure, I can't argue against that. You feel what you feel. But this matter does not conscern you personally (sorry if that sounded harsh). And it doesn't hurt anyone. So what makes it worth protesting against? |

All I'm saying, is that humans have been doing these sorts of things for a very long time now, so its not so much playing god, as it is playing human.

Fine. But do you wish for them to cancel it? Should it be stopped because you are affected when people you don't know go through with surgical procedures that won't affect anyone else but the man in question (besides you)? How would that affect him? |

Surely giving birth is a privaledge not a right?.. an absolute delight and pleasure. why should men not also have this pleasure?. I mean okay it's messy and painful and lots can go wrong. but if a man could and wants to have one. if the technologie is there why on earth not?. Lets face it. If they can do so much in the way of test tube babies, and medical care then why can't men benefit too? Makes sense that they work on male pregnancy. i mean what if all the women of the world got some kind of virus and died out?

But then comes the next step... For a baby to have optimum care... and this is not always possible for some women but it is for most... But it's always best that a baby's first ever feed is mother's milk because it is this first milk which carries ingredients vital for a baby's immune system to give the baby a plus start in life... Then if a woman can feed the baby herself for a while afterwards, it's an extra bonus for the baby... There's a special name for that first 'milk' that a mother produces straight after giving birth... except I can't remember...
Also a woman's body is specifically made to carry a baby in such a way that the baby can be cushioned against blows to the body etc... Nature has it all figured... A bloke would need a caesarian which means giving some form of drug... Sure women have them too, but not as a norm... Any drug given during the birthing process affects the baby... I personally believe that welfare issues for a developing baby should be considered way before meddling in things which in the end could cause more problems for the child... What for, just so some bloke can have a thrill at the expense of the baby? Gee... we turning into quite a fake and artificial society that's for sure... Dingo . |
