Congratulations London...... Excellent!!!

I'm as Aussie as Aussie can be and have lived here in Australia almost all my life... But London is the the city I was born in so this is extra interesting and thrilling for me especially when they will show all the different places in London...

I was gonna start a thread to celebrate Sam and then I realised that hundred's of millions of pounds will be spent on the richest city in Britain and I thought Birmingham, Manhester, Liverpool, Glasgow or Sunderland could sure have used it and it kinda dampened my genuine pleasure that London had won.

I am so happy that london won the Bid, the education value alone will help our schools up and down the country, I can see where Ben is coming from though as the Olympics will bring in a revenue of billion's pounds, and other cities could and should benefit from it, at least Liverpool will be the European Capital of Culture in 2008, and bring in around 2 billion pounds of investment for the city (they don't half make a mess of the place while building for it though). smile.gif

It will be my first chance to see the Olympics. I'm looking forward to London hosting this great spectacle. Come 2012 I will down tools to watch the Games and forget about working. Yippee.

Londoner's will have to pay 38p a week in local taxes. That's not much really, when you think about all the benefits that will come from hosting the greatest show in the World. :bluesbros
