Just went out tonight to do my regular check out the skies routine before I go to bed. Now it was a little cloudy tonight, but off in the distance, I could see two white lights that were on constantly and there was a red light in the center of the two lights that was blinking. I watched it for about 1 or 2 min. It never actually moved left or right at all. Now im not sure but maby it was moving away from me in a straight line therefor looking like it wasnt moving at all. I had some binaculours(sp?) I looked through and it was definitly two white lights that were on with a red blinking light in the center. I live pretty far out of the city so I could hear if it was a plane but I heard no sounds at all. My question is this. What color lights are on the bottom of regular planes flying? Is there a specific color they have to be? Is there a specific order they blink in? I have seen planes before but its usually a white light on one wing, and a red on the other wing, and they both blink at different times. Thats why im confused why this one had two white lights on that never blinked once, but the red one in the center did. Oh, I forgot to mention it just faded out basically. They had a cloud that passed in front and I stood there for at least 15 more min waiting and never saw the lights again. Any help with those questions would be appreciated.

Heres a pic I made that looked like it.

Planes have different lights depending on what model they are.
What you saw does sort of sound like a plane, and the blinking red light is very common smile.gif

I thought I had read planes couldnt have lights that stay on, but had to blink? Everyone i've seen here(U.S.) always was a red & white that blinked back and forth.

This is the only info I can find, it says something about haveing to have green lights?
